this show looks so fail...

the neat casual (strictly no ties, shirts untucked) attire/dress code is a sign of the stale comedy and forgettable cast interactions to come (think rove, although he started wearing skinni ties, tuxedos and vests about 2 years after they became trendy... his hair never changed, nor his scripted interviews or his lame jokes... cant believe no media got on his back about getting hitched less than a year after his ex-wife died... heartless...)

the photograph of course leaves out the politically correct female member of the cast, who im sure will try her best to replicate samantha lane's ironic position on before the game (ironic in the sense that its the FEMALE cast member who discusses serious football maters, while all the guys joke around... get it? yeah, its a format im sure took all of 20 seconds to think up, but thats the way it rolls...)

if only our light hearted afl talk shows were like Italian ones, where the girl is smoking hot and sits there and says almost as little as she wears... the world would be a better place...

and since when did peter hellier become the 'fix it' guy? he sucked on rove, so i dont know why tv/radio fat cats think he's the magic man with the golden touch... his failure to 'fix' MMM is a testament to this...

im all for less serious sports discussion (thursday night live has quickly become my fave sports show...), id even like to see more developements in the commentary side of things... kinda sick of ex-afl players with no personality getting 4 hours of media training and suddenly being 'qualified' to commentate football... id like to see some ROY and HG type ventures with calling afl games...

anyway, i just dont see THE BOUNCE being anything worth writing home about... hows about trying something new for a change channel seven?

a pretty decent rant for a show that hasn't gone to air yet..why not give it a chance? well you can't now, you're too intent on hating it.

I think it is a magnificent innovation to give Helliar his own show, that way I can just avoid it altogether. His segments on Before the Game were rubbish, now with him out of the way I can watch BTG without his cringeworthy skits. It's win/win.

I actually liked Helliar on BTG. Strauchanie was a little tired towards the end but was really quite funny for a good stretch. I'll definitely give this show a chance, however I don't have particularly high expectations. Lethal Leigh is a black hole of articulate humour. Richo goes alright as an entertaining ex-footballer, but Leigh.. oh Leigh. He's both intimidating (as an elder statesman and as one of the best footballers ever and as the only footballer to be charged with assault for an on-field incident) and, somehow, boring.

I guess we'll see how it goes.

Looks to me that it's going to be a bit like 'Live and Kicking' 2.0, that was a poor show and while I'll watch 'The Bounce' when it premiers on Wednesday I certainly wont have high expectations or feel obliged to keep on watching it. Channel 7 should just relize that they can't make any good (Football related) shows, so why bother in the first place.

Really? I was at that pilot too and didn't think it was anything special. It had it's moments but much rather the numerous other footy style shows.

Because they were intent on doing the Matty Johns Show and as an afterthought figured that they better do something for the AFL states as well.

The ad looks rubbish but I'll give the show a go. God knows, The Footy Show and Before the Game are both well out of puff so there's a spot for a lighter show about footy in my life. I hope it works - I was always sorry that Brigitte Duclos expriment didn't work out, although Sandy Roberts was too great a load for a show to bear.
