Hey all,

I drove past a big circus tent today and it got me thinking, who goes to these?
I haven't been to one in many years and have no real drive to go to it.
Usually they tie in with those carnivals but even they seem pretty lame to me.

I'm not a fan of animals being trucked around and used as they are in a circus and clowns are dime-a-dozen.

Where are the good old days of the tightrope walker, trapeze and the freak show?
short people, blue men, hairy men, strong men, the classics?

Have we entered a world where the circus is a dying prospect because we have so much disposable entertainment on computers and TV that we don't need to go to see a circus like we would have in the early 20th century?

What are your memories of the circus, circus stories and when did you last go to one General Discussion?

Got free tickets to circus joseph ashton about 3 months ago. I went but it was so amateurish and boring. However the kids (not my kids) loved it so its probably more for them.

The last time I went I was a kid and it was fun but I want the 1920's style lion cage circus.

Too soft now days.

Are you talking Cirque du soleil type circus? cause most of their shows are fantastic. Wish they would bring out some of their bigger productions here. Saw O in Vegas and it was one of the highlights of an amazing trip

I don't mind the circus. Last one I went to was pretty good. Haven't been for a long time though, will be one of the things I look forward to taking my contribution to the overpopulation problem to, when I have one.

Went to one a year or two ago because we were bored. Was actually quite entertaining.

Hate the circus because of the animals and most circus people just seem weird.

Watched two Cirque Du Soleil shows back to back in Vegas and they were unbelievable. Wasn't a bad break from the piss for four hours.
