Agree with the analysis on hughes. 20 FC 100s at age 24. Wow! Average over 50. Wow! On paper he is amazing. Got dumped in the Ashes after 2 failures on the back of an incredible series against SA. Given the opportunity given to others I thought that was harsh. Was picked when he was out of form in his second stint like Hayden was all those years ago v SA. If he actually has addressed the technique issues he is absolutely the guy we should bring in.

A lot in the media have said the same thing about Khawaja. Hope they are wrong as he looks good. On Doolan, I am not a fan of promoting one season wonders. Anyone remember Peter Forrest from last summer? Star with the bat domestically and given a go in the one day team where he did ok. This year he averages under 20 in FC.

Copeland was never in the Perth squad, but was in the aussie squad last season.

Hazelwood was in the Perth squad, and he's somehow now injured after bowling in the nets and carrying drinks.

Tough lot our fast bowlers...

Ah, beg your pardon. Getting my marbles mixed up... Carry on

Great to see Chad Sayers getting a go. He's been Adelaide grades most consistant bowler for about 3 seasons now & has really worked hard for little reward from the state selectors.

Whoever it was that mentioned Peter George, he's bowling very well at the moment, but due to the imbalance in the SA side (namely Botha) he's not getting the nod from the selectors.

Hopefully, with the new system next year at above grade level, we'll see a bit more talent come through.

Khawaja pulled from the Chairman's eleven to play 20/20. What on earth are they doing?? And why on Earth does he not get a say in the matter??

Where did you hear that?
From Cricket.com.au
"10:04 AM The CA Chairman's XI, captained by Usman Khawaja, has won the toss and elected to bat"

Haha serves me right for not reading the article properly. He will be pulled out after 2 days. Still . . . that is a rubbish decision.

The decision to revive Hughes' international career is a setback for Khawaja, who is regarded as having the purest technique for Test cricket of all the contenders. But Khawaja, 25, has some ground to make up with the selectors with his fitness, running between wickets and fielding. He is said to have been disconsolate on Wednesday after being told that he would be yanked out of the CA Chairman's XI game against the touring Sri Lankans after two days to represent Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League. Effectively, Khawaja went from being a Test aspirant to the pawn in a compromise between Cricket Australia and the Thunder, who were unhappy about Clarke being withdrawn.

Didn't realize that Special K was part of our T20 plans... But I thought they told us he bats too slow? o_O

****ing clowns.... Bring back Hilditch!

And to top it off, t20 is developing the sameness that some hated in 50 over cricket. The goose is only laying gold plated eggs now.

Hastings may have had a brief career for Australia, but at least he's a Hawthorn supporter.

johnhastings194 Congratulations to all the life members being honoured tonight at the @HawthornFC 's AGM. Great club with awesome ppl in it. #gohawks
