Is that a joke?

I have a bloke on the job as we speak, and if he missed the boat, he is a dead man. A freakin dead man I tell you.

No joke, heard it on the radio..... Fingers crossed for you :(

Edit: 2nd show on sale, you'll be right

I actually rate the second album higher than the first, and that was one of my favourites from a couple of years ago. Funny as hell, awesome delivery.

I would love to go to the show, can't really afford to unfortunately. Not happy.

Done. He came through. Lucky boy.

Friday night, which could amount to a fair amount of trouble.

I'd like to see these people's thoughts on the latest Darkness album

Absolute piece of rubbish, it makes a great beer coaster though.

I loved "Permission to Land" and was hanging to hear the follow up, but was greatly dissapointed after listening to it a few times thinking it would grow on me.

I actually saw it in the bargain bin at a CD store last week, so I think this might say a lot about how much it was loved.:thumbsd:

Anyone after a spare ticket to 'The Darkness'? Northbhoy has advised me that his ticket is no longer required.:p

I'm pretty sure that China and google will make sure that the search term 'Faithful Hawk' doesn't appear for it's users.

No apologies if a thread has already been created in the topic.

Don't really know where to start.

How good is that album?

I haven't enjoyed an album this much EVER. Something about a monster riff accompinied by a hardcore castrato, pink leotard wearing rock god belting out catchy as **** songs with ripping solo's somewhere in the middle somehow gets me going. And finally, some rock ballads that don;t make me vomit.

I a moved to create this thread only because I have given the album some time off after bashing it to death for a month or so, and it still evokes everything it did the first time I heard the opening riff to Black Shuck.

Usually I don't like it when great bands start getting awards, chart success etc because it can lead to trouble, but I reckon the music world needs this band.

Post your tributes below..............
*BUMP*

Living in Japan for 5 years or so I totally missed this band, and only came across them after reading some of the lyrics to One Way Ticket To Hell and Back in a Ben Cousins thread on the main board.

Googled the lyrics -> found The Darkness -> YouTube Search -> Watch the clip to One Way Ticket -> Instant Fan :D

Really getting into their stuff. I think the reason quite a few people on these boards don't like the soaring falsetto is that perhaps it seems somehow girly or emo to sing like that? I don't buy that though - wicked music - great riffs, humorous lyrics, catchy lines, great drum and guitar, and of course the soaring vocals and influences of Queen, The Sweet, AC/DC, Status Quo etc etc.

Lovin' it. :thumbsu:

Sorry rain on your parade, dude, but they've split, and Justin is in rehab....

Yeah, I know that too :D

Well, actually he is outta rehab and from all reports doing well.

Apparently they're gonna continue though. Wouldn't wanna be the bass player, who is switching to vocals. Justin is a hard act to follow.

Had read a couple of months back they were adding a new guitarist, and they were working on new stuff, and ditching the Darkness name for a fresh start. Which would indicate they woudn't be doing any Darkness stuff again.(probably just as well for Richie's voice:D)

When they toured here on the One Way Ticket tour, Richie came front and centre and sang 3 AC/DC songs (Highway To Hell, Shook Me All Night Long, damn, I've forgotten the 3rd. anyone else remember?), and did them very well, I might add.
