I'm pretty happy with the free parking in town on the weekend... if he can clean out the scumbag mallrats in little Malop st I'd be really happy..

Aside from that I don't know a heap about him, seems very proactive and very big picture...but very passionate about the town and footy club.

Talked more about the great Carlton teams of the past (his words) than he did about the team we were there congratulate. Can't remember the exact comments but I remember being pee'd off about it at the time.

Can remember thinking this at the time, a little coincidental. At least he has more time on his hands

Worth mentioning though recently acquired the Elephant and Castle Hotel, so must be still doing OK

Also threw in a comparison with Carlton (his club) of 1995 (although no mention of salary cap breaches!) in that we we 'too old too slow yet too good'. Basically after he'd spoken you were left wondering how the hell we even won the GF - this when we should've been celebrating the great victory and the players being there.

What do you expect from a Carlscum supporter? I remember hearing him on the radio once and when footy was mentioned he again backhandedly took a swipe at Geelong. To those that live and vote in Geelong how could you elect such a muppet?

Back when he was elected the residents of Geelong didn't get a say in who the mayor was. We just got to vote in the councillors and they decided on the mayor. Only recently have the residents had a say on who the mayor is.

I live in Canberra but I'm from Geelong so I'm biased to picking up Geelong news but he's definitely getting the Geelong name out there, and not in an embarassing way. He's coming off as an eccentric/flamboyant dynamo. I couldn't name a single previous mayor and I doubt anyone besides political nerds in Geelong could.

I like the guy a lot though. I think his charitable work is great and I watched him on Excess Baggage which is a show I really enjoyed.
