Yep. Good title for a book. Anyway, I don't if anybody has noticed something about this whole Wayne Carey scenario, but have you noticed that Channel 7 in particular has been really vicious in the reporting of this story. I mean, I've seen vicious before, but not to the extent of this. It's almost like they're saying 'let's get rid of Wayne Carey once and for all'. Can the media totally destroy a persons' livelyhood? Is there a bit of payback regarding the 'affair' issue of a few years ago?
I think Wayne is a flawed character who has been living in a cocoon for many years and obviously is hell to live with. You wonder how this person lead by example by being captain of North Melbourne for many years. What did Denis Pagan see in him? A football field was the only place he lived a normal life...once he showered, got dressed and went home, he was still waiting for the siren to go.

The media themselves are the real devils. Anybody read a copy of 'CLEO' lately..' for Christ's sake if I had a daughter she wouldn't be going anywhere near it and the same goes for current affair type shows and even the news! No wonder everybody famous is a little bit unhinged.

In the Herald Sun this morning it had the Carey Shame Files... One of his Shames was having a Party in a spa in a hotel...

I agree totally with this. As an expat, not being constantly bombarded by Australian TV and newspapers etc, it becomes clearer how these bastards in the media sensationalize everything.

The language they use is extremely inflammatory. I'm not defending Carey's actions, as you cannot condone assault, or smashing a glass on someone's face (allegedly). But cripes, you'd think he had killed or r*ped someone, the way they go on.
