Have a theory.

Any player who is going to be any good usually shows something in his first 6 games. Even a good quarter or perhaps one good game. Cotchin has already done that.

JON is in his third year and we are still waiting.

Not a bad theory but it does not always work.
There was a bloke back inthe 70s who took about 4-5 years to establish himself and he didn't manage to hold his position until he was about 23
I'm trying to think what his name was:rolleyes:
Ohhhhh
Not sure
Maybe
Maybe
Tuck I think it was Michael Tuck
Thats him
Doesn't he hold some sort of record ????? To do with the amount of games that he played.
I'm guessing you would have been sacking him for about 5 years as well

These guys can't be serious JON winning us a game with a point!

Save me! LMAO

Back in Tucks day a lot of hawthorn players did their time in the twos.
Very different now.

BTW, a large number of replies to this thread already!

OK, I've been won over.

Forget the common theory that it takes years for players to develop, if they're not winning games and walk up starts in whatever the premiership team is within the initial 2 years of their contract, dump 'em.

Sure, we'll be drafting about 15 players a year, but at least we'll get rid of the trash.

OMG your thread's got replies! break out the fairy bread and lemonade! attention. whore.

has he even done a full preseason?

he still needs to play games for coburg and get his confidence up, once he gets that then he will go alright, i cant see him as being elite but not every top 10 pick is. Hes in his thrid year and is 19/20 so give him a bit of time to get physically right for AFL football as all players take time to find their feet at this level.

You know what, thank you for starting this thread SR.

I hope someone at the club informs JON of this thread's existence, I honestly do.

Wanna know why?

Every single Tiger supporter posting in this thread is sticking up for the kid and supporting their club!!!!!!!

Go read all the replies, everyone is sticking up for JON and we are showing we are patient to wait for him to mature before making any harsh judgements.

You now look like a complete fool sausage

Good on you Tiger fans, can't wait to hear your roar when we thump the Bombers this weekend! :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Ps. Get well soon jonny, the Tiger faithful are more supportive of youngsters these days and you'll earn your recall before you know it.

There's nothing more disappointing in football today than when a top 10 drafted player isn't performing or showing anything at the level. We go through it with Chris Egan at Collingwood and it's very disappointing.

But sometimes you have to sit back and let the player develop, which is something that a lot of people don't get.

A player rated by the club as JON is will get plenty of time to do this where others won't.

I think he will come on at some stage because he certainly is talented.

Unfortunately you're going to have to listen to the shit kickers paste the boy until he shows something, which really will make it sweeter when he does.

Think he'll be a good player when ready.

Gee, I am so lucky to be filled with such wisdom on this board.

I will try to avoid the personal abuse, of which I cop plenty, to simply re-state that cothcin gets in our best in his first game and JON, in his third year, is still not good enough to get a game.

Dress it up anyway you want, he simply can't play and the club will be waiting till he is 25 before we get a good game out of him.

Oh, BTW, it is interesting to note all the JON lovers use the lack of pre-seasons as their excuse for his ineptness yet Cotchin had virtually no per-season yet performs.

Intersting isn't it?

Yeah! From now on let's only recruit blokes as good as Cotchin!:thumbsu:

God post. Hope Egan comes good, too. I know his family. Good people.
