We lose to Richmond at home and go 0-7 all hell will break lose it would get very ugly I would imagine and I think Craig would have to walk.

0-7 would really set the cat among the pigeons.

lets not forget, there aren't really any good reasons for why we have missed our targets by so much.

0-7, and sheesh.

According to some on the Richmond board, we're trying to pinch 'their' draft pick. :) If we do lose to them, I guess it will be confirmed in their minds.

If we lose both the Showdown and to Richmond that would easily then be the lowest ebb in the club's history. People are talking about the natives being restless now, a loss to Richmond at home and the natives would be out for blood. If that were to happen I couldnt see Craig surviving the carnage.

Lowest ebb? I remember a loss to Fitzroy during the Robert Shaw days that was pretty bad (pretty bad being an understatement).

HaHa They can have it.:p

But seriously you can't compare our plight to that of Richmond just on the grounds of injuries. 2 weeks ago they had a clear list so this is as good as they can get.

Hate to say it but Richmond may well beat us as they did kick 11.7 on the w/end against Fremantle at Subi, so to beat them we are going to need to kick 11-13 goals, last week was out highest score kicked so far:(

Yes, the feral supporters were out in force that night!!! I overheard someone planning on driving his car through Shaw's house.

11.9 75 vs Sydney
and
10.12 72 vs Bulldogs

0-7 would be a real test of Crows fans integrity and maturity. This could be embarrassing for the fans more so than the AFC.

Yes 0-7 would be a test but this assumes that we lose to Richmond at home.

Wait I just saw that Danger is out for a month!!!!!!!!!!!

This can't be happening!!

Thank god 16th is as far as we can fall, had it been next year or the year after.......

We picked a great year to be ****ing shit, didn't we.

Whilst you're spot re not getting a 1st or 2nd draft pick, however there is another way of thinking about it...

If we finish last (which we probably wont) we get pick 4. Now pick 4 is no where near as good as pick 1, but...

16th = pick 4

All the teams in the top 8 dont see a 1st round pick because gold coast get every 2nd pick after the first 3. So even though its not pick 1 or 2 our pick will be so much more ahead of what the other teams in the top 8 get. So assuming we're top 8 again next year we would have gained so much more than them.

This is said to be a very good draft. So finishing 15th or 16th maybe be fine but anything above that may be pointless. So if we do happen to finish 16th we would have gained ground in some way on Collingwood, Bulldogs, Geelong, Saints etc. Our 2nd round pick would probably be just after their 1st round.

Do we get any priority pick if we win less than 5 games?

I believe so. At the beginning of round 2. (Is it officially 18 points now?)

We'd get a PP between the 1st and 2nd rounds if we finish the season with 16 premiership points or less. That's the equivalent of 4 wins, or 3 wins and 2 draws, or...

Melbourne are the only team eligible for a PP ahead of the 1st round - but it's looking increasingly unlikely that they'll qualify for a PP in 2010.

I'm so depressed that we're even in the position of discussing the possibility of a priority pick. While we're discussing these things - anyone know what the deal is with the PSD wrt Gold Coast. This may well be the only silver lining if someone like Gibbs wants to come home - we would actually have the PSD to gain some leverage at the trade table if finishing bottom still gets you pick 1 in the PSD.

Their ND concessions are fairly well known. They also get picks 1-5 in the rookie draft.

However, the AFL haven't stated that the GC will have any concessions in the PSD - and they probably shouldn't be a participant at all given their ability to sign 12 uncontracted players outside the draft.

My guess is that they'll have the first PSD selection in each round, if they still have any list vacancies. Effectively that means they go first, then everyone else gets to choose who they want, then GC get to clean up whatever's left (assuming they still have list vacancies to fill). NOTE: That's only a guess.
