It's like you think world leaders don't lie. I mean the organisation you trust is part of a government that has an Area 51.....an Area 51 why would they lie? Why don't they let all the Facebook fans that were going to storm the place in?

Why can't people just accept the earth is round? Society can't begin to fix our ACTUAL problems unless this sort of swimming against the tide rubbish is stopped. To think that human beings still believe this nonsense just astonishes me. Same as racism, sexism etc. Why do some people just not get it?
The sheer stupidity of this stuff seriously concerns me. Each to their own and all that but there has to be a point where if you can't accept something that is obvious you should probably ask yourself why. Calling the earth round a "conspiracy" does a disservice to genuine possible conspiracies in this forum imo

Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequence for your speech or ridicule for your opinions. Yes you can make an argument that the decent thing to do is to encourage others to speak up for what they believe by offering them a safe environment to do so and hopefully clear the path for everyone to be heard, but thats a completely different point. Therefore you can clearly believe in free speech while thinking others idiotic for their opinions.

Tolerence and an open mind might be related to healthy discourse in a free speech society, but they are a seperate issue from ones right to put forth their ideas and opinions.

On another note, i completely agree with your point that we seem to waste so much time and energy on such trivial and obviously wrong issues. Image what we could achieve if we could just agree one what it was we should be solving.

That which is said with zero evidence needs zero evidence to dispel it. Although in this case it's self evident the earth is flat. That said, would you be tolerant of someone saying you had three ears? Hopefully you only have two, so even though the person saying it was clearly wrong, would you still defend their right to say it?
