Yeah his proof, UA mimicking as gravity LMAO and look at the pictures, pictures from the flat earth sites! not willing to believe in NASA but 100 percent trust on yoga gurus. Yet he cant name one credible scientist who can support his hypothesis. I think he is all trolling us and we sucked into this debate and he is having fun at our expense.

The most serious issue with all this is that, if Bards is in fact serious in his condemnation of the scientific method, it is reflective of a mindset that could greatly undermine human endeavour. If not for the work of science, we would not have the internet, we would not have mobile phones and wi-fi and we would not have advanced medicines, nor the ability to carry out complex medical procedures. We would lack decent irrigation techniques which have helped modern farming considerably. It's through study, and observation, and the testing of theories, that we have developed the technology we have. Bards is arrogantly dismissing all of that when he refers to the scientific method as a religious notion.

To a certain extent, all science is based on theory. Theories which are tested constantly. Theories which continue to be validated by being tested. It's always possible we may make some dramatic leap forward in any given field which radically alters our perception of the universe. However it is certainly not a given, and the mere possibility doesn't mean we throw out everything right now.

You will find that he is not alone. There are plenty on these boards who hate science with a passion. You have the likes of Procrastinator35 believing Einstein's theory of GR is a croc and Einstein was a fool. So i guess the theory which stood the test of time with so many practical applications from sattellites to GPS navigation system, is all a croc? I dont understand what people get by knocking the scientific method to fulfill their own agenda.Yet no one is yet to disprove the fasifiable element of the theory of general relativity, yet knocking the theory without understanding it in the first place. I bet if i ask him a few questions about the theory, he wont be able to answer, but nevermind, lets have a crack at science.

I gave an example of his anti evolutionary stance, quoting young earth creationists. People are not looking at the evidence, they have a conclusion in mind and they are looking for evidence which fits their conclusion. Unfortunately all science deniers fall into that category.

I have googled flat earth pictures, they all come from dodgy sources, including the redbull pictures. Wordpress, imagehouse, yming, other websites which anyone can use. These pictures are apparently much more acceptable than the ones uploaded by NASA. So a picture posted by some yoga guru is real but something posted by NASA is fake.

with cannot suspended, darthy is find it hard to troll i believe :D

Still looking for someone to genuinely attempt to debunk all the details/points made in this video. Point by point. So I and others can assess.
You need to find someone who can sit through a video posted by Eric Dubay. I dont have half an hour to waste otherwise i would do it.

I just watched the first minute, enough to say i cannot be watching the rest of the video... heres the hoax. Any long parallel lines will appear to converge as they get further away from the viewer, no matter what the viewer's orientation is.Stand in a room with two parallel lines painted on the ground. as the move away from you, they will appear to converge...... now remove those lines and paint two parallel lines on the wall in front of you running from floor to ceiling. If you stand far away from the wall, would the lines still appear parallel or would they appear to converge at the ceiling? If the ceiling is high enough, yes, they would. In the case of this picture/video Mr Dubay posted, not only are they getting far away from you horizontally, but vertically as well.

Some perspective is needed. If you look down a set of parallel power lines or railroad tracks, to your perspective theydd look like they get closer together when they're further away.

He failed science, he failed arts and probably failed reasonining and logic too (like all anti science brigade here), anyone wanting to watch the whole video, please do not waste your time

Convenient you stopped there at the first point, that's an easy one. But it gets very compelling after that. Not up to the challenge? ;)
The problem is they build on these points, they say things which if you don't think too hard sound true.
They mix and match unrelated ideas together to form a view.

They are not simplifying something so that a layperson can understand, they are creating something a layperson may find credible sounding so that they can teach them something false as fact

If you post a video not created by a complete ****ing whack job with no credibility somebody might actually watch it.
He's a god damn yoga instructor I'm sure all his points have been debunked/mocked for how stupid they are by actual credible scientific minds time and time again.

That's cool. But there's a number of good or compelling points in isolation as well. If the idea here is that not everyone is a science wiz and may need some genuine feedback without all the belittlement etc. And be honest, if there are points made that even you don't know the answer of, or are truly confused too, how compelling, then don't be afraid to say. It's merely a community trying to better ascertain it all. It's not a competition or domain of pride.

Dude i would watch it if it was something posted by someone i can take seriously. Darthbards attempt to name a credible FE'ers ended in facepalm. Eric Dubay is a con artist, he makes his money writing books about grand conspiracies and draining money out of the sheeple who buys this crap. I knew the video would be stupid anyway, just watched the first couple of minutes to confirm what i already knew. Why waste time on watching scientific stuff coming from someone who failed grade 4 physics?

Give me a reason why Eric Dubay has a opinion that has more then zero credibility over the countless educated people who aren't stupid enough to believe this flat earth nonsense and I'll waste my bandwidth on his ridiculous videos.

Cheers! It will be interesting to see darthbards takes me up on the debate or not.
There is no debate against one crying conspiracy and computer simulation to every evidence posted everywhere while unable to defend his so called "evidence" .He never wanted a debate, he is either trolling us or is purely an idiot

I'm not a scientist. There are lots of things I don't understand, or have to look up or read more on to get, and even then I might not get it.

There is so much history out there on this topic, there is no way we can prove to the people who believe the earth is flat that it isn't.

Flat Earth isn't a theory, there isn't even one consistent hypotheses or explanation. It is a belief.

Those that believe use emotive language, they try to convert others like any belief system. They are not playing by the same rules as the scientists who are trying to explain the evidence.

The evidence is dismissed because Fe is a belief system, whether it be linked to religious beliefs, or anti establishment beliefs or part of a person world view that there are secret societies running the planet or that we are a simulation etc

FE "theory" should not be given equal time or funding or standing with round earth because it is not an equally valid and possible position.

This is creationism rebranded as intelligent design vs evolution all over again.

You only have to look at a ball and it makes no sense we are living on one.
Spin it on your finger it makes even less sense. Hurl it as far as you can, less sense again.
And then some try and say it came from a big magical explosion, from nothing, that they can't even prove.

Sounds pretty logical.
Spheres aren't so unusual in science....

Go to the 30 second mark.

All throughout science and chemistry spherical formations can be observed.

That you can't fathom how we live on a "ball" when you look at one in your hand says more about your lack of scientific understanding than anything else.

I can picture you looking at a tennis ball wondering how we could live on one and it just makes me laugh.

Please don't tell me that's the reasoning you have to be so sure the earth is flat.

It's very very illogical thinking, then again you

i have debunked it with a quick google search!

This is the creator.

This is true I was watching while I commented and continued before turning it off.
Was nothing groundbreaking about it and considering it came from Eric Dubays channel I watched it longer then it deserved
