Richards or McGrath to replace?

Bugger!

Any idea as to what strain of flu it was? The calf, hamstring or knee variety?

The Sheedy flu could mean anything.

Corked thigh, corked groin, corked calf.
Broken leg, broken foot, broken head.
Dropsy. The staggers. Dum-dum fever.
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.

Indecisiveness, Decisiveness, Uncontrollable falling down, Geriatric Profanity Disorder.

Chronic nagging....nagging....nagging....nagging....

good decision in the end to let hirdy have a week off and be fresh for the must win games in front. Sheeds probably thought that today would be the easiest out of our remaining games (considering our record) and thought that this would be the right week to do it, also given that he had a tough game last week. Disapointed that Winderlich didnt play though. Great to see Mercs getting a game, will retain his place after todays effort:D

Yep, I look for two things in a game of football.

1) Essendon win the game

2) James Hird doesn't get injured.

I guess this week we got both so that makes it a pretty good game.:D

I'm all for bringing in the World Health Organisation, the Windy Hill Flu has to be one of the most dangerous diseases out there. Dean Wallis caught it so bad in 2001, he never played again. Forget the Cure for Cancer, find a cure for the WHF!!!

Rogue Bomber, I'm hoping like anything that you're right about the second one. Nothing will get to me more next week and see Hirdy being a late withdrawal (again) because of the lingering effects of influenza hamstringitis.

well the doc said he has a hamstring strain, so its possible that he wont play next week (and i hope he doesn't, don't want him playing and then tearing it)

I remember him saying after yesterdays game they had him in the box to keep him warm.

I bumped into Sheedy today at the VFL game and asked "So are you keeping Jimmy warm today Kev?" He looked smiled a little bit and says "Ohh Yeah".

I laughed.

I hope its just the flu as I dont want our skipper getting another Injury. That would be pretty crappy. We wouldn't need him for our next matches anyway but it still would be good if he was playing. Also just when he was starting to play very well.
