Mega Thread The Former Player Thread: Part 2

Matthew Davis and Stefan Garrubba have joined the inspirational Daniel O'Keefe at Geelong West St Peters. No news on the Luke Vogels clearance from GWSP to Torquay. Torcha Chambers may still be on the coaching panel at GWSP.

Darren Jolly has been cleared to his original club Lexton. Are Jim Gull and Howard Lockett still pulling on the boots up there?

I insist on being rewarded for following through and keeping this thread handy.

If you were a Nathan Gordon fan, you won't have to wait long for your reward ;)

Mummy had 60 hitouts today!

Admittedly in a match that threatened to break the world record for the number of stoppages but there is no question we do miss him.

The question was only over his body and worth surely

No doubt in my mind he was still the best ruckman on our list last year

I know we had those question marks, given his history with injuries, but if he stays fit for the next 2-3 years it would have been a mistake letting him go. In hindsight, we really needed Mummy on our list, particularly with the injuries we've had thus far. Lamb, White & Everitt I can cop, but Mummy was a big one. Oh well, it was obviously GWS offering a contract we couldn't match.

Not that I wish any ill-will against him, but there's a fair chance he will break down again at some point. Hope he doesn't though, he deserves a good run, career best form atm.

That weak ex ruckman of ours in Darren Jolly and his amazing wife Deanne are to appear on the next series of the Block and it will suit them. Seriously why would anyone watch that crap which makes c grade celebs out of nobodies.

will not watch. he's such a turd. his wife probably wants the spotliht

Jesse White has been really good for us this year.

Have any of you been watching Colingwood games this year? I am wondering how his current form compares to his time at Sydney?

By all reports he had his best year last year, is it a case of continuing on the uptrend thus far?

He is fast becoming a favourite among the magpie army.

Essentially. He finally got the message that he wasn't working hard enough and got fit before the 2013 season - only took him 6 years of immensely teasing performances where he'd do 2 great things a game, 3 good things and 15 terrible things or just go missing altogether. Was always incredibly frustrating to Swans fans as we could see how good he could be if he got fit. He's a remarkable athlete for someone his size and last year he finally showed he could hold down CHF and push up on a wing and give teams something to think about.

Certainly looks like he's stayed steady from last year and the way the Pies play I think suits him nicely. Particularly paired with Cloke in the forward line, he'll get a lot of opportunities to be one out with his opponent and there aren't many big defenders who can go with him athletically. He's a solid contested mark and a very, very good kick at goal (that's always been one of his best assets).

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on him. I've been impressed how solid he's been. Really took his game to a new level in 2013 and is continuing his slow but (now) steady upwards trajectory.

You've picked up a very handy player, he will be a solid contributor for the pies for the rest of his career. With Cloke & potentially Reid, you guys have a potentially powerful attack.

It'll be interesting to watch both Collingwood & GWS to see how the 3 pronged attack operates in each side. It's an interesting case study.

Decision not to give Mummy an increase in salary & match the term from GWS just to keep him is lkooking good ATM.
He probably has 9 Brownlow votes from 3 games but we can see where the problem is with him.
I've said it before, that he'll be lucky to play 15 games a season.

Good on him for getting the best possible contract he could.

But I'm very happy in our decision not to have matched it.

Geez GWS are sh.t.

How lucky are we that we get to play them round 1 every year from now on?
