Brandon Jack has a fiction piece in The Saturday Paper today.

Some weird scenario of a guy who is a member of a seriously sick online group, and his therapist, all of which I didn’t fully understand.

But the kid can sure write.

And not actually Swans-related, but while you’re at it there’s a really nice piece in today’s edition by Martin Mackenzie-Murray, a Freo fan, talking about his four-year old daughter’s discovery of Aussie Rules via choosing Collingwood as her team.

Roughly 30 years ago, Gary Buckenara was fired as our coach. He was arguably the worst coach in my time following the Bloods. Since then a combo of luck and good management has seen us prosper with a succession of excellent people as our coaches.

Couple of ex players join the AFL Tribunal in Scott Stevens and Darren Gaspar.

Always liked Scott and disappointed when he moved to Adelaide, which was more our doing than his.

Like was never something I felt for Gaspar.

Stevens 'is legally trained and admitted to practice.'
Must say I never thought that Scott would end up a legal eagle.
I remember he had to retire after an innocuous knock led to another concussion and even months later he struggled if he even went for a light jog.
Good to see his life appears back on track.

Almost eight years to the day since Goodes performed the dance that changed the course of his devastating final season, the man who has performed more times on the SCG than any other sportsman returned to the club to witness the unveiling of a commemoration he initially resisted.
In a relatively private ceremony shrouded in secrecy,
:( :(
Swans bosses and the club’s Indigenous past players gathered outside the Royal Hall of Industries around the corner from the SCG for the unveiling on Friday at 1pm.
...
It was under these conditions that Goodes, whose wife Natalie gave birth to the couples’ third child - a son Leroy - this week,
...
Four years after the unveiling of the famous and iconic Nicky Winmar statue in Perth, Pridham said: “There are simply too few sculptures depicting our Indigenous leaders. Let there be many more in the future ... The importance to our country of Adam’s courage in standing for his people is well documented. He has distinguished himself on and off the football field for his courage, integrity and grit.

“As important as his football career is, it does not define him. His social conscience is another important ingredient in his life. Like bronze, Adam is strong and rich in layers of attainment.”

Much to like about that.
Firstly capturing an iconic moment, fine work from the sculptor and yet again funded by Basil Sellers, who ploughs huge sums of money into the arts and sport (and thankfully much the way of the Swans).
Secondly great that Adam is recognised and immortalised.
Lastly love Adam's words today...." I completely felt connected to the Swans and the Bloods...".

Goodes may have turned his back on the AFL, but he certainly hasn't turned his back on the Swans because he knows will always be respected by us, not only as a player, but as a driver for change and that the Swans will always welcome him with open arms.
