My Mrs drives a kia carnival for family reasons and I drive a BT-50 for work that i don't own. Do we fall into this category?
I can forgive the BT-50 for work only purposes but not really the Kia unless you are always moving that many people

People who walk slow
People who have poor microphone technique
Cyclists (sorry Mister B you know I love you)
People who own cars the size of ford rangers
People who own BMWs
2016 GF umpires

Shall I go on?
I feel attacked. Apart from that one line, you are spot on the mark. I guess no one is perfect, right?

  • Parents that think they know more about where their child is academically at than the teacher who has just spent 10 months solely focused on the academic progress of their kids.
  • Parents that pretend like their child behaves perfectly at home when we all know the whole reason they are an entitled little snot rag is because they made them that way.
  • Colleagues that turn teaching into a popularity contest because they feel being a child's best friend is more important than being good at their job.
  • Colleagues that question the marking of your students because their personal lack of belief in particular kids has restricted them from being able to achieve their best up until the point you prove them wrong.
  • Politicians that pretend like they know a ****ing thing about the teaching profession.
  • Doordashers that ask you for a 5 star rating when you have watched them pick up two other orders and drive 100m past your door to deliver to someone a 10 minute round trip away before delivering your now soggy food.

You're a teacher then?
Been surrounded by teachers all my life. Could add a few.

Always found teachers an interesting bunch, have a couple of aunties who are teachers and i never met a group of people who loves to complain about but also defend their job so hard. It's this weird polarity. Usually their mood intersects with whether or not they are on one of their 20 weeks of annual leave per year

Come to the point in my life where once someone starts a political/state of the world/new world order discussion, and just people who complain about everything in general, i'm out of the room, can't be bothered.

Paps on the game plan (via his podcast):

"so a lot of teams are trying to go faster and and score off turnover quicker. So that's how what we want to do is score quick score off turnover like every team does but we will have changed a little bit here and there but I don't know after about four or five rounds I think every team will see what we're doing so I don't want to give away too much but yeah there's a few little tweaks in the game plan and yeah it's good

Looking forward to Brandon Jack spelling it out for the rest of the competition

Probably because it's a pretty difficult job with some very rewarding moments. It's also at the nexus of a couple of things:
  • Dealing with a basic structure (One adult, 30+ kids in a class) that hasn't changed (and that society generally has refused to think about changing) since the prussian worker schools.
  • Having to deal with the development of these individuals, often at wildly different intellectual and emotional development stages with varying home lives with lots of pressure to make sure they meet the year outcomes.
  • Dealing with various 'stakeholders' who've never actually been in the profession in any meaningful way yet have influence.
