Can't recall a single comment of an even slightly derogatory nature against him in years on this board and that's saying something. Was awesome again, is just about the complete backman now. Intercept marking a highlight, but not only that, knowing WHEN to go the mark, and when to spoil. Doesn't try to do too much and then runs hard to be the link up, both in the D50 and elsewhere.

I was a little confused last night as one part of the crowd was cheering "SPUD!" every time Michael Firrito repelled another attack, and from the other end, the Tiger army was also yelling "SPUD!" but Firrito was nowhere near the ball. Then I realised they were jeering Vickery.

Lachie did some pretty poor things early on to gift Richmond goals (wasn't on his own) but he's all heart and took some incredible but regulation for Lachie saving marks.
