They've amassed 20 former round 1 and round 2 picks, this isn't taking into consideration any academy picks either.

The talent is there, if they can retain their players and they have time to gel they have the makings of a very good side.

There is 0 chance they'll keep of all of them. It will be another GWS situation where kids will break out, be head hunted, they won't be able to afford them all, but they will trade them out for a cycle of the next first rounders coming in.

The key for the GC to do well like GWS have is to retain the right ones, realise who is expendable, and ensure the new kids they bring in develop in the same way.

I'll take Ports very happily as a constellation, and I'm confident we won't have a problem with keeping them too. They really need experience alongside otherwise they'll just repeat what happened before.... GWS built their list 10 times better with the right experience types too, not just money hungry grubs.

We've also got good picks coming this year too.

I'll also be confident we'll snag some from other teams too.

Be interesting to see whos better between Rozee and Anderson, both pretty similar in my opinion. Bias tells me that Anderson has more potential just because he gets the footy more

Flanders will add a tough hard nut to their side which all good sides need and Sharp is all class on the outside, he could be ready soon too

i wanna see Flanders smash someone, pick up the footy and kick a goal tbh, hopefully not the hawks.

Flanders is very, very close to being selected according to those in the know. Expecting him to play in the next few weeks, mainly up forward, with possible bursts through the midfield.

The rumours with Flanders is we originally traded out of the first round in 2019 thinking he would be out of reach at our original pick #8 (Serong), he was a North fanatic and was the one we really wanted. He ended up lasting to #11...

So it will be interesting to see how we track him over the next few years...

Every year Suns are decimated by injuries. Even this year round one Suns were missing 6-7 best 22 with crazy average age (23 years 2 months). 5 players back in round 2 made a huge difference. Still Suns played 7 players 20 years old or younger and were again easily the youngest team (24 years 0 months). This round for the first time in a long time most players are available minus Thompson, Rankine, Miles. Some real competition for spots.

Personally, I can't wait to see Rankine debut hopefully in 2-3 weeks. He's on a Rowell freak level. Just need to get his body right. Also in your face Flanders should be a joy to watch. I also believe Sharp will be all class on the wing.

Let's see if Suns can back it up against Crows.

That's correct. In one of his interview I believe Suns list manager Cameron said that Suns will follow GWS stragegy as they did not get extra salary cap concession.

Suns overhauled the whole club in the last 24 months. I would say Suns do now a very good job developing young players. As talls, Luko and King develop very nicely. 3rd year Ballard and Powell were great against Eagles. Also Suns academy program is finally delivering. Budarick was very promising against Eagles. Next year Davies is projected to be top 10-15 pick.

This might not be the case later in the year but right now I want to watch the Suns. I want to watch their kids play. It isn't something I can say about every club, but the Suns are right now an exciting team. I just hope that they don't have a massive drop in a few weeks like they had had the last few years.

Yes , I think Gold Coast are better that I first thought, however WC were absolute rubbish , disinterested, poor skill execution, lack of effort all over the park. I think WC did make them look better than they are

FWIW I think Adelaide win this week. We have never seemed to beat them and I think they will be absolutely going out there with a point to prove after being belted in the media and not giving a yelp against Port.

That also isn't to say if we lose this one game, it means the season is a failure for us either.

Need to keep every young player they have at the moment.

Looking at the list I don't think salary cap will be a problem for at least 5 years so they should be able to keep them all together in the medium term.

Rowell in the last 2 weeks has been in the top 5 mids in the comp, he is starting his career like Judd did back in the day, hope he keeps it up, btw he kicked 2 goals on his wrong side, lefty goals from 50 and 35, insane for a 3rd gamer and his tackling and tough inside work for an 18 yr old is top notch.

Ben King is looking like a star too and Budarick is doing well, obviously Ellis and Greenwood have been great additions and Witts, Collins, Day, Weller with Sexton are a good group to build a core from.

All in all I'm enjoying the Suns footy this year.
