He obviously has a big enough ego to really want to win it. Watching so many of the competitors just jogging along is rather annoying, as is seeing nonsense like Ben Hudson competing a few years back, but (a lot like the voting for MotY and GotY) you should just remind yourself that it's not to be taken all that seriously.

Go back to the 80's (Geoff Ablett won it a heap of times) and it was a very serious affair, and fans I'd say enjoyed watching it. For players who wouldn't have been earning a lot back then it would have been worth taking seriously to try and pick up a few extra dollars.

It really should be scrapped because it's obviously become quite ridiculous in recent years. Or offer up a decent amount of money for the winner and it might be worth watching again. And keep the cab drivers out of it!!
