Wheres the heart for Carlton, anyone who thinks every Carlton player played every minuet of that game like their lives depended on it is crazy. Did anyone else see the same thing in the last 5 minuets or so, every time Richmond had the ball there wouldnt be one Carlton player sprinting, but as soon as we had possestion 5 Carlton players would be sprinting calling for the ball.

I thought, when we were only 3 goals down with 8 1/2 minutes to go, that the boys would spark up..but it never eventuated. There certainly seemed to be a lack of passion and legs for those last few minutes.

Blues should look at a few Richmond acts - Hughes, Simmonds & Richo as well as Scotland. These guys putting their body on the line.

Jarrad Waite... I've always stood up for this guy, but he seems to have made an art form of looking like he contests without actually putting his body on the line. Twice last night, once against Hughes and the other against Simmonds, his lack of physical desperation was pathetic.

i think we may have won if rats had coached a bit better. i mean waite killed shultz and thornton killed brwon so rather than leave jamo on big richo he should have moved thorton on richo from the start put jamo on shultz and push waite up forward because for the whole game we had nobody but fev to kick to. waite would have been handy up forward and he moved him up there but it was to little to late. did anybody else think fevs leads were poorly judged? just didnt look like he had enough space because they had a loose man infront of him. well coached by terry.

It's sad to say but there were very few sacrificial acts performed by our boys all match. Too many blokes just trying to do 'their' bit rather than playing FOR the team, playing with HEART!

I hope like hell it was an aberration and we see a much more intense, disciplined effort next week. It'd be nice too see a couple of tackles actually stick too! :eek:

Dare i say it, were very soft mentally and physically. There is no doubt on my mind we had the players to bet Richmond, they just wanted it much more, especially after Hartlett's brain fade. I would have thought that Judd presence might have made us more hungry, elevated our mentality, infact it seemed to do the oposite, like most players were waiting for him to take the game over.

As many people have said, it's the first game, we were fairly underdone, shit happens and there is always next week. It was just fairly disapointing the effort the boys put in last night

Very much lacking in heart. Wonder if it was the whole;

"Don't expect miracles"
"It won't turn around quickly"
"We're still growing"
"We're learning a new game plan"

thing. If you take those excuses out on the field with you, you lose.

Bryce Gibbs' effort to mark at the start of the 4th quater was truely pathetic, at least hes bulked up I suppose:eek:

Considering Schultz player at centre half back most of the game i really doubt Waite killed him, it should read "Schultz killed Hartlett and Moore killed Edwards as Browny, although not his best, still managed 3 crucial goals and was a meter away from a 4th.

Jamison will get better on the proviso that he doesn't get any negative physcologically ala Zac Dawson. Young kids including our own Thurstfield were often pantsed. It will do him could as its all apart of the fast tracking. In hindsight they probably should have put Thorton or a stronger body on him as Richo will win a one-on-one 99% of the time when side on with a weaker defender
