I've heard from someone I know high up in one of the government departments that it's likely Kingston will end up being announced as location of Performance Centre.
Curious to hear if others have heard anything similar.

This looks like it's 20 min out of Hobart so not as good as the other location. I wonder if it's as good for attracting players.

It will be a 10-15 minute drive for most players, I imagine that is significantly shorter than the average drive that most AFL players would have to do to get to training.

I looked it up on a well known map - about 14 mins drive from Sandy Bay at 9.00am to Twin Ovals. That's close. So for the players it would make sense to live on south side of CBD.
For those interested a midday drive to Hobart Airport shows up as 18 - 30 mins from Sandy Bay, again not excessive and very competitive for player access compared to access to CBD, training and airports in any other city.

I'm guessing Kingston Beach/Sandy Bay will probably be the area the players look to buy into, or if they're country people they'd have plenty of options down the Channel or Huon Valley. Kingston is a great spot.
