That looks like a pretty good side for Delhi in the end, especially with NCN and Imran Tahir as options on the bench. What is really exciting is the combo of Iyer and Samson up the top - two of the brightest stars of the comp. de Kock is in some excellent form right now and should be starting XI.

Possible Best XI's (A bit of guess work on some of the Indians is based on T20 form overall)

Dehli
Quinton De Kock, Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson (wk), J.P Duminy, Karun Nair, Chris Morris, Carlos Brathwaite, Pawan Negi, Armit Mishra, Zaheer Khan (c), Mohamed Shami,

Gujurat
Aaron Finch, Brendon McCullum, Paras Dogra, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Suresh Raina (c) , Dwayne Bravo, James Faulkner, Ravindra Jadeja, Shadab Jakati, Praveen Kumar, Dulwhar Kulkarni

Kings XI
Murali Vijay, Shaun Marsh, Manan Vohra, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Glenn Maxwell, David Miller (c), Gukeerat Singh Mann, Mitchell Johnson, Axar Patel, Sandeep Sharma, Mohit Sharma

Kolkatta
Gautam Gambhir, Robin Uthappa (wk), Colin Munro, Manish Pandey, Suryakumar Yadav, Shakib Al-Hasan, Andre Russell, Yusuf Pathan ,Umesh Yadav, Piysuh Chawla, Sunil Narine

Mumbai
Rohit Sharma (c), Patriv Patel, Ambati Rayudu, Corey Anderson, Kieron Pollard, Jos Buttler (wk), Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Vinay Kumar, Harbahajahn Singh, Lasith Malinga

Pune
Ajinkya Rahane, Sarubah Tiwary, Kevin Pietersen, Faf Du Plessis, Steve Smith, MS Dhoni (wk), Albie Morkel, Ravi Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, RP Singh, Ashok Dinda

Bangalore
Chris Gayle, A.B DeVilliers, Virat Kohli, Kedar Jadhav, Lokesh Rahul (wk), Madeep Singh, Stuart Binny, Mitchell Starc, Sreenath Aravind, Varun Aaron, Samuel Badree

From that list I reckon Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore have the strongest sides

Meant to have Negi higher, was moving players around but left him at 11 accidently :$
I dont know much about Iyer, but I will take it from you he is a good player as you follow Delhi quite closely

Yeah mate got the gong for best young player in the comp and was electric as an opener, one of the first picked for me. Negi has a huge role to play, he's clearly highly rated by the higher ups in India so has a lot to prove.

Gayle, AB and Badree are walk up starts leaving only one International left
If fit, Starc plays over Watson

Watson will be playing, and probably over ABDV if it came to that. As good as ABDV is...he isn't a fantastic T20 player. Starc won't be fit.

De Villiers has played 104 IPL Matches, scored 2571 runs at 36 including 2 T20 centuries, and 15 half centuries at a strike rate of 144
I reckon thats pretty handy

Watson is better and his bowling will see him picked. You are not paying close to 2 million dollars for someone to sit on the bench. Starc won't play regardless, but if he is fit, one of the others won't play. Despite us losing in the WC, Watson was close to the best A/R in the tournament...he has multiple IPL MOTS awards, you would be absolutely NUTS not to play him. You need bowling options.

Agree to disagree.

Are we all thinking of the same Shane Watson

Gayle and DeVilliers for mine are the best 2 T20 bats in the world (outside of Kohli, who is also in the side).
Badree might be the best T20 spinner in the World, and Starc probably the best T20 pace bowler in World Cricket.
I would rate each of these players better than Watson overall, despite the fact he bats and bowls
