Great news. Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. Hope he turns his life around regardless of whether he ever plays for us again.

From what others have said this is what Marra is aiming for. It's a long shot and all, but just imagine Jamarra getting some genuinely good treatment, getting himself right and putting his head down.
If he returned some of the love, put in a full preseason and was selected R1 we'd all be so pumped.
Would actually be a big thing for the whole club, historically.
Nice dream anyway.

Yeah it does appear a long shot but if that occurred Marra would become even stronger than before. From what I know Marra has not said a bad word about our club, in the face of fierce criticism and possibly some comments from supporters, he has not responded.
If he is checking into a clinic to get his health back on track, so as to play football again it is the turning point we have been hoping for.
I think some of you on here have forgotten what it is like to be young and make mistakes, either that or you were all perfect.
It would really good to send him some messages of support and encouragement, and stop dwelling on the financial side of this.
Lastly, if Jesse Hogan is willing to mentor him, he would be a great fit.
In some cases yes, depending on how large the organisation you're involved in though these things can follow you.The easiest way for him to cut ties with that friendship group will be to move interstate. Would be able to avoid a lot of challenging conversations/situations.
You just hope the friendship group have half a brain and realise what they are doing to their 'mate'...
Second best recruit, behind WeightmanThis is a huge positive. If he can set himself on the right path he becomes the best "recruit" in the AFL in 2026. For us.
Alternatively he shows up straight off the back of a six day bender and kicks 18 in the VFL, causing St Kilda to fall over themselves offering us a suite of first rounders and we mutually part ways. It's a long shot and all, but just imagine Jamarra getting some genuinely good treatment, getting himself right and putting his head down.

Jesus that is a LONG way off. This is a huge positive. If he can set himself on the right path he becomes the best "recruit" in the AFL in 2026. For us.
I’m still in the ‘highly doubtful that he makes it back to AFL’ camp but he is only 23. IF he sorts himself out and IF he wants it bad enough to put in the work there’s absolutely no reason why he couldn’t make it back and fulfill his potential.Jesus that is a LONG way off.
There's serious doubts he will ever play AFL again. I can't even begin to tell you how extremely unlikely it is he reaches the same heights he previously had and there's literally zero percent chance he ever becomes the player he was touted to become when he was drafted.
I love your support and optimism but we should be realistic here.
Im not saying that the two situations are in any way analogous. I have no idea why he's gone to a a wellness retreat. For all I know he could be there to have his chakras realigned. Or just to commune with nature on the lovely central coast.I’m still in the ‘highly doubtful that he makes it back to AFL’ camp but he is only 23. There’s a bloke running around right now that went off the rails at the exact same age and he may very well be a dual Coleman medalist come the end of the season.
Never say never.
I agree - let's be realistic.Jesus that is a LONG way off.

I don't believe for a minute that other clubs wouldn't be interested in JUH if he decides to return to the game and is looking for a a fresh start away from the Bulldog's. Clubs are nothing if not opportunists who like to rise to the challenge of fixing a somewhat wayward player. Especially one with the talent of JUH. Personally, I think if he does return it'll be with the dogs.
"If" is not "likely", which therefore is not necessarily optimism.Jesus that is a LONG way off.

Having attended quite a few Sydney games at the SCG.Swans fans are writing him into their team lists for next year.
Probably want to play him as a second row.Having attended quite a few Sydney games at the SCG.
I can attest to their lack of knowledge about the game.
