Well yes, that's literally his job. He gets paid handsomely to be the kick ball guy.
By that measure. Adam Treloar should just put some strapping on his calf and play through a bit of discomfort for your viewing pleasure.

I again wonder where he is living and who with. Surely being with teammates would be good for him, or a mentor, such as Adz is for Sanders. It would keep his mind on the job of looking after himself and his schedule. Shared responsibilities in a house are great levellers. You don't have time to brood and get down, if there are companions around you with a common goal.

Listened to the podcast he was just on, obviously was struggling mentally more than anything, hopefully the time out has worked for him and he can start playing footy for the dogs again.. going by his own comments he loves the club and wants to stay and is ready to get back into the swing of things.

Marra also did the rehab and is now doing the recovery to get back onto the park.
I wouldn't bother. I had a nice older lady (not sarcastic, she was lovely) behind me at yesterday's game i was chatting to and even she was against Jamarra coming back to the senior team because it just wasn't fair for the other players. Some people are going to be anti JUH not matter where he has come from and what he is doing to rectify it.

So the more you get paid the less your health matters?
No, but supporters frustration of a player’s unavailability would be proportional to how much of the salary cap they are taking. Let’s not play pretendsy’s here.

I want him to play in a Premiership with us and try his guts out. If he is too unwell to do so, I have sympathy for him.

I’m not satisfied the way he has gone about it since September last year. He really should delete his social media accounts. Full stop. That has partially dictated why I have been pissed at him this year, particularly after last years Elimination final where he did not try.

Morris reporting on Jamarra being late to training on Saturday says all you need to know about the journalism we have in this sport and the media attention Marra was speaking about in the podcast.
Yes Jamarra was late, and no it's certainly not a good look. How late was he though? 5 minutes, he was 5 minutes late and it makes the headline of Morris' segment on the news.

Edit: was Saturday not Friday.
Watching the clip of this, I didn't think it was surprising from Tom Morris, but did find it rather interesting that James Hird was in agreeance with him on the other side of the desk..

From an interview with him.
"I have been watching every single Bulldogs game. I have been supporting them, been watching them"
Bs, he was out partying whilst the team was playing and instead of showing up and in his own words "supporting them" at the historic Footscray game he went out on the p#@s.
I don't hate him, I hope he gets his stuff together and gets on track but he's not honest, he showed no support whatsoever. Remember he once said he doesn't watch footy! Now he watches every single game, crap.
He's getting help, great, hopefully that includes learning to be honest and accountable for your actions instead of passing it off as just symptoms.

He literally covered this on the podcast. A week prior a friend of his tried to take his own life so had the friend staying with him and was looking after his mate. He didn't want to be at the MCG in front of 90K people with someone who was vulnerable and not being at that game with that excuse is understandable. He's made mistakes absolutely but if you're going to take small exerts and then write your own truth about it, at least get the full story.

He's absolutely made some mistakes, but some of what happened and trying to understand his mindset at the time makes more sense with the explanation and discussion of what he is going through and the trauma he has grown up with.

Sounds like he definitely wants to remain a bulldog even past next year, which is great to hear. If he gets back playing AFL (which seems like he is heading in the right direction) I don’t see why we wouldn’t offer another contract.
In a way it was sad too hear about his sad story but
Of course. Bear in mind that this interview took place before his return to the club. And with two hosts that he was comfortable in the knowledge that there wouldn't be much push back on anything he said.

Im sure that one of the first things that the club did in the lead up to his return to the club was to assuage him of these views. If he wants to continue his stated view that he wants to win a premiership with the club.

I took the "show up" comment as one relating to him ticking off all of the boxes over the coming weeks and things will naturally take their course. That level of hubris is not really surprising from a guy with his rare skillset. Id be surprised if it was otherwise.
During his interview in that artical he did say he wants too stay be on 26 and he also said if they did offer him another contract that tells me he's there to stay he also said he told bevo he wants to play how much more can he be honest with him self too be honest i like him and respect the guy and i did say in this post you imagen Naughton Darcy and JUH next each other they will course issuse and headacks to the oppicition

Mate when you read his story it's very sad

I think part of it too is that he came to the club and through the draft process so well adjusted and mature etc that people (myself included) didn't expect him to be having any of these issues or past traumas to deal with. You never know who is dealing with what or when they are struggling through something, so was easy for people to just assume "oh he's just out on the piss or a druggie etc" and not be able to understand the underlying problems causing his absences, and perceived attitude over the last 12 months.

Again, he's not a saint and has made mistakes i'm sure even outside of the issues caused by mental health which a lot of 18-25 year old Males especially are responsible for

There's also the huge pressure that comes with being a number one draft pick. We tend to forget Tom Boyd's struggles prior to 2016. It was hard to watch him spill easy chest marks game after game. Quite like Naughton's current struggles in a way, but with added pressure. People were cruel to him at the time.

All has since been forgiven but you wouldn't want to dig up the gameday threads 2015-earky 16.

It's why I hate the comments like "you can't have mental health issues getting paid megabucks to chase a ball around". Ridiculous. Boyd and JUH, both completely different backgrounds both suffered through it at times.

There's been hints on this board that Naughton is going through a bit too. He's trying too hard it seems to me. He's out of the zone . No flow. The pressure of his big contract may way heavily on him too.

Whilst I love protecting against lawsuits surely this is abit excessive.
"Foxsports.com.au does not suggest the allegation is true, only that Ugle-Hagan has made it."
Also about 1/5 about the car theft or alleged theft the rest is a rehash of quotes from his podcast.

It’s a very odd article/situation.

The fact that Marra said he had suicide thoughts due to being hounded by the media, and 24 hours later Barrett, Mclure, Morris and Cleary have all come out and had a go at him should say everything you need to know about AFL media.

Marra has made a shit load of mistakes but these blokes are scum of the earth.

Journos nowadays are a literal cancer on society,

Clickbait, being "first" and endless speculation instead of reporting on facts

The lack of accountability is the worse thing of all, just hide behind 'sources' which 99% of the time are made up. Need a proper media watch style program every week which exposes and fact checks these bums.
