Anyone going to see TMOC on their first tour in a few years in January?

From their website: www.tmoc.com.au

The January tour will largely concentrate on enjoying The Mark Of Cain legacy that exists till now with some new songs - to be recorded by late 2006 - thrown in. This Rock Against Apathy tour, is also a reminder that -

Music still exists -

With no commercial ambition

Musicians exist -

Who only wish to play

Exorcise the Devil from the Industry Tour -

Testify and Crucify

This is the Way, Step Inside.

Can't wait till the homecoming in Adelaide.

Should be a cracker!

Playing at the Corner Hotel over here mid-January can't wait. Should be a cracking show. Haven't seen them live since 1995 at The Prince of Wales.
Might even shout out a few heckles "Play some old Fear and Loathing - this stuff sucks!!!:p "

One of the world’s most punishing rock bands, Adelaide’s The Mark Of Cain, have announced details of their first album since 2001’s Andy Gill-produced This Is This.

Three years in the making, Songs Of The Third & Fifth – the band’s fifth album – is slated for release in late 2011. It was recorded in Adelaide’s Broadcast Studio in 2008 after brothers John and Kim Scott regrouped with drummer John Stanier, who had recently completed a national Big Day Out tour with Battles.

Plans are afoot for a national tour in early 2012, with the first single from Songs Of The Third & Fifth slated for a digital release in August.

That is the best musical news we have had in a very long time.

Time to put Ill at Ease & Battlesick on high rotation in anticipation.

Oi, Oi, Ormsby. ;)

I didn't notice this when I read the thread before..

I used to share a house with the very Ormsby made famous* in Oi Oi Ormsby.

I never shared a house with Harry Butler of Butt ****ed Again fame.

* Famous in a very small section of the Adelaide Rock loving scene.

Man, I love this band. Been keeping tabs on them via TMOC website blog. :thumbsu: John is one angry dude.

Ah the good old days, when there were bands in Adelaide actually worth seeing. I miss TMOC and Testeagles gigs. Good times.

Hope this is better than their last effort tho.

Dirtyratz, John is one of the nicest blokes you'll ever meet. He's just intense.

He's had a bit of a rough trot in he last 12months, with his brother Kim also having some illness on his family....both of these concerns have delayed the album up until now.

ill at ease and this is this still punish my stereo regularly. The most underrated Oz band in our history.

Rollins also makes an appearance on this album.

That explains things a bit better then. cheers. Hope they play Soundwave 2012 and blow the place apart. the song 'lords of summer' is in my top 5 most played Itunes songs. (thats out of 15988 songs).

I love 'The Lords of Summer' too. Their first 7" and one of their best ever songs. Total Joy Division worship.

First single slated for an August release, but does to seen to have appeared yet.

Can't wait for this new TMOC stuff.

****ing hell, I opened up the music board and saw this thread at the top and thought holy **** it's here!!!

Disappointed again...

Can't be long now can it?

The album has been held up again. Won't be released until 2012.

They had a single due, but the clip has been held back as well, and now it will drop in October.

The mightiest band in Australian history returns. Can't wait. Their record output has never been equalled or surpassed. Seeing them between 1990 and 1995 remain some of my most memorable gig memories.

A mate of mine actually played drums for them once or twice, not like its a huge deal cause they went through a multitude of them lol
He posts on here I might tell him to stick his ugly head in this thread.

I still have Tell Me 7 inch <3

****ing love TMOC, spewing about the new album being delayed but have a feeling it will be worth the wait.

Most underrated Aussie band of all time.

The others walk behind me
They're on semi-safety
So some itchy fingered FNG
Doesn't nail my arse

Maybe John is going crazy?

This is turning into Chinese Democracy...
Unfortunately it has more to do with some personal issues that his bro has been facing.

John did go through a divorce himself just recently also.
