Toast The media....*Nods Head*

I've had SEN Melbourne on the last few days with Dwyane Russell. He's a different kettle of fish on radio than a footy TV commentator. Quite listenable. Probably a bit controversial around here but just my opinion.

He's tolerable when he's not talking about Port.

This deserves a bit of acknowledgment for Jimmy Bartel and Footy Classified.

Rather than just read out a list of names of injured players for a club, this graphic helps explain how severe an impact injuries can be to a club when you set out where they play, but more importantly the way a team plays, especially when key ball movers are missing.

Absolutely. I always hate when the media reports "games missed" injury ladder stuff. This sort of thing is a much better indicator. One player is never vitally important to a good footy side, but if you have a string of prime movers out, or players in the same position out, it can really hurt.

And there are players who are replaceable (because there are replacements of the same level and similar skill set) and others who are not (whose immediate reserve is way worse or too different).

In other words, a team may have a dozen injuries and be relatively fine. Another may have three and be totally screwed.

My conspiracy theory is either Josh Money himself or one of his mates is Bigdog. And if I'm right, it's worked, his Bigdog interactions are the only reasons I remember his name.

To whoever is publishing our coach and line coach interviews on youtube:
  • please
  • pretty please
face a microphone (or 2 or 3) at the people asking the questions.

I'm concerned that I have to turn the volume up so loud when trying to get the context of the question that I'm going to shatter a window or two when it reverts back to the coach/line coach speaking.

This isn't a peanut operation, damn you pay out $20m a year to the players.

Please go down to officeworks and spend $150 on a few more microphones and point them AWAY from the coach and TOWARDS the people answering the questions.

gets off his soapbox and goes back to yelling at clouds

The interviews themselves are great btw.
