Geez here we go ...........................
PORT Adelaide is bracing itself for a raid from interstate clubs for its superstar youngster Chad Wingard.

And one of the main threats that has flagged its interest in the talented forward is premiership threat Hawthorn, which has a history of attracting the players they want through aggressive trading.
Power football operations chief Peter Rohde took a pragmatic view to the byplay, but said Port was prepared for persistent offers from other clubs.
“We think he’ll be aggressively pursued, there’s no doubt about that,’’ Rohde said.

HAHAHAHAH
Unless he was given a very, very, VERY fat paycheck this is not going to happen. He basically took a huge shit on GWS by saying he was going to run on home as soon as his contract was up, I see him being a Port player for life unless there's some other extreme motivator in the mix.

NBA says caro :)

It's not like there's bigger, better, stronger, faster and younger college basketballers out there so it should be fairly easy for him. *massive sarcasm

hahahaha

All this Wingard leaving talk was started up that Stupid campaigner and effhead Bone to try and smokescreen any talk of Dangerfield possibly leaving.

I find it funny that Mackay has recently signed a new 4 year deal, and Hendo as signed as well, but not their number one pin up boy! has me thinking hmmmm!

The crows will lose one key player in this current round of contract negotiations. It's part of the cycle of life.

But......

Chad Wingard may attract the interest of rivals when he comes out of contract in a few years. Duh.
My guess, Chad will extend his contract well before it's current expiry date.

But its great that its a smokescreen, because the deal can get done without the grannies up in arms.

Maybe Jesper is a little annoyed that so many players have recommitted to Port in recent times, and virtually nobody has decided to leave. So he's decided to invent a bit of hype, where none exists. Question for Mr. Felch-stad - why the hell would a player want to leave Port, when Ken Hinkley is his mentor? I can 100% guarantee that Kane Cornes would now be watching from the stands, if somebody else was the coach: Ken is a wonderful teacher, a sensational motivator, as well as a fantastic coach: little wonder everybody wants to be at Alberton for the long haul.

Mackay getting 4 years is LOL worthy. He's not top 5 for any category applicable to midfielders at the crows (possessions, contested possessions, clearances, inside 50's or rebound 50's). And 8th - 10th for most of those. At 26 to be worth 4 years he should be top 5 in a couple. Especially considering Adelaide missed out on the first round picks to recruit gun youngsters like Wines or Wingard to push him down the list.

You can see it's a two pronged panic / attack strategy going through their minds. The panic is signing up average (at best) players to over long contracts due to all the bail outs they've suffered (especially compared to us, when they've been higher up the ladder the last few years). And the attack is have their lackies in the local media try to manufacture a sense of panic in our ranks and try to get players to bail.

If we can keep quietly signing players to contracts that are sensible, whilst Clangerfields non-signature continues, then they'll keep up the over inflated spud holds to keep Beryl and Mavis at bay. And ensure whether clangerman stays or goes will become irrelevant as they'd have so stuffed their list up regardless.

It was funny hearing Rowe say 'I know for certain that D-Mac was highly sought after from several big clubs' so sought after they needed to give him a 4 year deal? The Dees & Dogs might've thought about poaching him for cheap but he wouldn't get a gig at any top 10 club.

To think a few of our supporters had queries over Bob & Jasper getting long term deals (in hindsight it was a good thing) & they're celebrating Mackay's long term signature like it was Sloane/Walker speaks volumes of the standard we set for our players & list management.

The amount of time and energy you spend thinking and writing about a club you hate is astounding. It is quite impressive, maybe even bordering on obsessive?

Because if you read your board, Bay 13, Facebook and Twitter you won't find any Crows supporters obsessed with Port Power [sic], oh no.

How is Alex_Has_An_Extra_Chromosome these days?

In this case more the opposite. I saw 4 years for Mackay and went who? I can't remember him ever tearing Port a new one and couldn't pick him out of a line up of two. And I'll admit there's been a few the last few years from your mob who have. So I thought, maybe he's one of those players opposition fans don't notice, but racks it up and delivers it forward. A 2 minute investigation proved that wrong, so yes, I posted on what appears to be (yet more) bad list management by your mob. Sue me. (Well no don't unless you have a friendly good looking Sue to give away to me).

Most opposition supporters would just shrug it off and move on, but your response is thought out and comprehensive. It really shows how much you care.:thumbsu:
