The Australian (paper) News Corps runs at a loss without worry as it gets them able to push whatever political or business point they want (and I don't have a problem with this, we're a capitalist society, if people don't like it run a competitor at your own cost, just don't ask the taxpayer to via the ABC).

The advertiser though is a shit paper aimed at a small state with minimal clout across the country. Getting David Pentherby and Tony Shepard's views on whatever was covered nationally two weeks earlier is not worth the money it's costing them. Even the deliberate having it go more trash paper stories isn't going to stop the slow decline to death. And I'll enjoy the funeral for the rag.

Not a terrible list but certainly could do with some reordering. Schulz and Westhoff are massively underrated.

The biggest clanger he makes is labeling #5 Shannon Hurn as a 2006 premiership player. A routine internet search shows this is not the case. How can people get paid to write professionally and make such basic errors?

One thing to take from the article is that we have the lion's share of the SA talent in the comp. certainly would make list management less risky.
