Integrity is irrelevant when we have a weighted fixture and some clubs rarely get to play at the MCG, the horse has already bolted. Clubs resting players is the LEAST of the issues.

I hear ya brother.

CrowAA often talk about the integrity being compromised when clearly it already is starting from the boardrooms.

If depending on where you finish at the end of the season being the crucial factor of gaining the best possible start with either best draft pick or home ground advantage in finals then it is a blight on the game.

I would suggest to that the AFL have an overhaul on the fixture and finals series.... or are they happy that the AFL is getting so much airtime and generating stories for journo's.

Because this is what's happening,

Rumours stronger that Bennell will quit the Suns. Hawthorn being mentioned a bit as a destination.

Luke Hodge: thank god he's a country boy….

Jonathan Brown… "I always say to them, 'We're just a little bit tougher than you are, city boys, we've had it a little bit harder along the way' Brown notes that ………….aren't afraid to tell their urban-reared teammates they've got it over them when it comes to resilience.

"It's that lack of bullshit, if you can say that. The word that comes to mind is honesty. It's something tangible with that link that Luke's got, not just to Colac. It's like Lenny Hayes - everyone loves him. And it just comes back to pretty basic, sheer honesty, I reckon

Only a little bit dead

Should have run this when Hodge was being interviewed.

Yup, growing up in Mildura must be so much harder than Redfern.

And Kane is giving it to him!!! :thumbsu:

These Adelaide sooky campaigners are nothing more than a disgrace to our state now.

We all should be ashamed.

"How good a year have Port had?" He says sarcastically, assuming they get done over by Geelong we've only won a game less than his mob & our scalps have been much better than theirs.

I can't wait until the Dogs knock them out first week of the finals & Danger jumps ship leaving them back at square one of being a mid tier side that only performs when they get spoon fed the easiest draw in the comp.

I am still trying to work out why it is such an issue.
Kane Cornes " Well if the Crows want a home final they should have won more games"
Wildy " Yeah but the Crows still had a chance if North Melbourne won last night"

I just don't get the argument. As Kane said, the teams in the top eight are in a position they can manage their sides as they please for the finals. So many things happen in a year, to blame 1 individual game in Round 23 seems to be clutching at straws to me.

Be funny if Danger wins the Brownlow and activates a payout clause in his contract so they get to pay him extra for the privilege of losing him.

Wonder if he'll be invited to collect the gold jacket?

Stricken from the record like phil davis, was it?

Hahaha - they're such a bad football enterprise it's frustrating in a way.

If it was Richmond that was resting players, allowing North to win, and benefit the Crows, this crusty old bugger would be sprouting that it's sensible football management.

Resting players is not tanking.
Hell, even taking a game easy in preparation for finals, like Richmond was in the first half last night, is not tanking.

Wrinkles just said both the Adelaide reserves and Port reserves should be exempt from playing SANFL finals. WTF!.

saying he'll be going there tomorrow and thinking this is just wrong.

Hows F*** O** sound!

Edit - I've got a better idea, how about we scrap the SANFL comp all together and let the AFL take over it.

He called Gil a spineless something or other. Classic
Don't think Pembo would have apologised unless he was forced to by 5aa management. Wouldn't be surprised if the AFL applied some behind the scenes pressure.

I don't remember this talk last year when sydney rested all their players and richmond beat them here to clinch 8th.

Great point.. We all know why they weren't talking about it, cause it didn't effect the all mighty self acclaimed team for all south australians cause they weren't in the finals.

They always hide their outrage under the guise of "protecting the game". They werent outraged when it was fremantle, but north melbourne does it and suddenly "its destroying the intergrity of the game". I remember when Kurt Tippett left and they got draft sanctions and fines and suspensions, they then set out on a crusade to protect the clubs against the evil overload that is the AFL. Wrinkles even compared the Adelaide football club to the miners at the eureka stockade defending their rights against the evil government.

Then the rule about sliding in to players below the knees, everyone was okay with it because it is dangerous, but then those frees were being paid against the crows. Then cue outrage from the ambassadors. "its destroying the fabric of the game!!" they cried.

I am so glad that under his casualness, we have the integrity to not hire ambassadors to trash anyone and anything that isnt Port Adelaide, and to defame anything that doesn't drink the camry kool-aid.

Exactly.

And when you think about it a last year was worse. The result determined who played and didn't play in finals. Often qualification for finals or not qualifying and be used to keep or fire coaching staff.

This year all effected teams will play finals. Everyone is getting some pie no one is going hungry. These are just children squabbling over whos deserves a bigger peice and calling it an "intergrity of the game issue"
