Always has been a win at all costs mentality. You think they didn't know about Cousins and Kerr? Or Ryan's domestic abuse cases?
Between Eagles' win at all costs approach and whatever our approach is, I'm sure there's a happy middle ground somewhere

Herd on the Terrace: Eagles Woodside bid revealed
The West Australian

Never mind that the Eagles already have four AFL premierships to the Dockers’ nil, the chardonnay sippers at West Coast show zero mercy to their Emu-chugging rivals.
We say this after revelations this week at one of the many farewell dinners being held for outgoing Woodside Petroleum boss Peter Coleman.
With Fremantle Football Club chairman Dale Alcock and chief executive Simon Garlick at the send-off, Coleman revealed that the West Coast crew had approached him almost every year about moving Woodside’s major sponsorship to the Eagles.
Those of you who do not know that Woodside is Australia’s biggest homegrown petroleum company might also be unaware that the Perth-based giant is the major sponsor of the relatively modest Fremantle Dockers, now operating out of Cockburn.
Given Coleman has been in the job since 2011, those poaching attempts by West Coast cover a brief period when Fremantle were genuine premiership contenders and an extended stint of mediocrity.
Maybe long-suffering Freo supporters should give Coleman a hero’s send-off at the home derby in mid-August.

w***ers, both the Toast and Nisbett

What the actual **** WC, go and get absolutely ****ed you gigantic pieces of shit.

The ****ing arrogance, I'm lost for words

Sorry but Woodside are nuts... think of the great ex-players they'd have access to...?

Daniel Kerr - oh wait a minute, he's in jail
Adam Hunter - nope, very much in jail
Ben Cousins - well he is out of jail, so possible but it'd probably breach one of his many AVOs/parole conditions
Daniel Chick - would have to organise it outside of the club but he would be 'entertaining'
John Worsfold - unless petroleum is performance enhancing he's probably 'busy'
Willie Rioli - does Woodside security use sniffer dogs?
Ben Sharp - in jail although he knows a bit about fuel... ice-fuelled armed robbery that is
Luke Trew - the additional metal detectors required would be very expensive
Tony Olango - has a suspended prison term so he is 'free' - no really, he'd literally do any gig for free
Chris Mainwaring - :( ****ing tragic

Hmmm... ok not going so well but Nisbett is connected to West Coast Fever so maybe one of their players...?

Oh, they can't do it due to salary cap breaches.

I'll keep thinking...

WTF??? There's absolute no rhyme or reason for trying to poach our major sponsor other than a big middle finger to us. Already one of the most recognisable brands in the state with a smorgasboard of sponsors and the main newspaper at their disposal. Just pure greed.

Yeah that’s it,
have companies just lining up to sponsor them but instead tried to get Woodside to switch just as a purely dick swinging move ... and they say we’re the ones obsessed...

Remember in that thesis about Freo's formation that did the rounds a few years ago there was the part about the eagles acting all high and mighty that Freo refused their 'help'... while also revealing they had regular board meetings about how best to keep Freo down?

Refusing any 'help' from those snakes was about the only smart thing we did during our initial set up.

Pity the Fremantle council took them for granted. Never made them feel wanted & never made it easy for Freo.
I dont think Freo council(ratepayers ) had the cash.
Our strongest card was the community.
FFC went for the highest bidder.
In hindsight probably the right choice.
Better to be sited closer to the middle of your fan base.
I wanted the club to stay myself(ish)...
and i am the ratepayer.

Isn’t Pav one of Woodside’s ambassadors ?.

Love to hear his candid comments.

Honestly, greed is letting them off lightly, it’s some kind of disgusting evil bullshit I can’t think of a word for. To be an absolute powerhouse with unlimited funds, unrivalled sponsorship and the media at your beck and call to want to specifically target the smaller clubs main sponsor is incomprehensible
