Like everyone else I am estatic with todays win. Especially when you hear all year the media who follow each other's opinions and make them their own, write up negative article after negative article.

Listening to 3AW pre game today and they were talking about the new clubs coming in and taking all the draft picks. Dennis Committee says that he sees no future for the tiges and he would say to tiger fans not to take up memberships as there is no hope.

The reason we take out memberships Dennis my boy is because of days like today. We are no doubt on the right track and I see a lot of quality kids there and we have a quality man leading us finally.

Eat em' alive tigers!!

Jesus. Is this serious? Commetti?

I did like the bloke for his commentary, but that is just deplorable. It would be deplorable about any club, but this is MY club. OUR club.

I want to hear this. If that's genuine I don't want to hear him again. I'll listen to Kelli Underwood, "Huddo" or even Bruce the Goose over someone sprouting that sort of drivel.

I wouldn't worry to much about Commetti's opinions....he is abit like Brian Taylor...

Always kicking the bottom clubs when they are down........so called footy experts with flog like opinions :/

Great win today btw

Look at the media reporting about how our formline has been pretty good and this win has been a few weeks in the making and if you take out the Geelong game we've been competitive.
Piss off! You ***** weren't so positive when we lost to the dons or the crows. It was just same old richmond rubbish.
So to Walls, Barrett, Lyon, Robbo, Connolly, Cometti, you can all shove it up your ass!

have a read of this article by rohan connelly. Truly sickening and just shows these blokes in the media jump on and off teams every few weeks based on the win loss ratio.

Last week this baffoon would have written that even though we have come close we don't know how to win and the future is dark. This week we win and all those other games we were unlucky in and the future is bright.... What a bunch of $**kwits.

Dated Confetti does not know what Richmond supporters are made of.

We are made of passion and loyalty so good luck trying to make Richmond supporters change it will not happen and if they do,they aren't made from Tiger blood.

Haha, very true.

These journos must drive their car by looking out the rear view mirror.

I have never been much of a fan of Rohan Connelly but I think he's been one of the few media men not following the sheep and kicking us while we are down. Not as far as I have seen/heard anyway.

He gave us a bath in round 1, which was entirely deserved, but since then he's stayed quiet on us in his columns at least so I think it's misguided to make Rohan Connelly's positive article one to hate on.

You Dated Commetti? Wow what was he like in bed?

lets add Hutchie

I hope these guys can look back a their media career and say I was objective and fair. but I think they will look in the mirror and wonder what if .

I think you guys have to realise that for the most part, we have been as bad as the media has made out.

From an objective point of view, we haven't really even been that competitive. They have sunk the boots in a bit, and seemingly haven't been that forgiving of us accepting we are rebuilding from the ground up, but they haven't exectly been wrong.

Don't think we should be adding, Hutchy.

He's actually stood up for us a few times when Caro and Lyon have taken easy cheap shots.

He's a filthy gossiping disease of a bloke, but not in the reactionary or constantly on and off the wagon and "sarcastic wit" ways of Garry Lyon, Caro and Quarters.

Thats a good call. And could you imagine the outrage if any of the above journos publicly penned articles with the same content half a dozen posters on this board constantly come up with about our players

There is defs a double standard there. Some of the attacks on Richmond players on this board, and the flip flop after just one win is far more intense on this board than the media.

Trade Lids, trade Foley, drop Cousins for the rest of the year after one bad game, delist Newman, tank tank tank etc.

Some people just need to get a grip and let things play out I think.

Agree with Madison here, for most part we have been sitting ducks because our formline warrants it. Could consider playing us as the "bye", we've been that uncompetitive at times. But it's easy journalism, and for most part AFL journalism is deplorable. Most state the bleeding obvious, most jump on bandwagon's and flavours of the week, a few even make up their own version of the truth (Barrett probably the biggest culprit, the swine he is).

Patrick Smith probably had the two best pieces of journalism this year about the Tiges so far this year. Both were written about the Connors issue, and both put a positive spin on the situation in that the club will move forward from it. Every other two-bit snake-oil salesman stated the obvious, that this "appears" to be a disaster for RFC. Maybe because they don't have the mental capacity to this along a different tangent, but probably because it's just easier to write that version of events.

As a whole, I take about 98% of most media articles involving footy with a grain of salt. We don't need mindless justification for our own opinions.
