Well last year we lost to Brisbane by 57 points and this year only 55 points so maybe we are getting better!

But when you factor in the 1 point advantage you get for home games it would be 56 points and that tells us we are still the same piss poor team as last year!



I really like dribbling shit for the sake of it too!!!

Why else would we be here ?

Ross has no gameplan for these games. Same crap, yet game has changed years ago. Still can't kick goals, still take too long to move it. This season just resigned to losing, just like ah well. Numb really

I find that most people on here talk about the team and where they're at, but not many share how they're feeling as supporters. I just can't take anymore of this boring, contested/congested, low scoring footy. Most of the time we just watch the same things over and over again and it wasn't that great footy to begin with. I want to see a game style where all players have equal opportunities to grow: forwards, smalls/talls, inside & outside players etc. The long bomb down the wing is so old fashioned and ineffective, and it is not conducive to scoring. How many of our forwards ever kick 40 + goals a year? I've lost all faith in Ross and he is eroding my joy of watching this club play Footy.

Nor can anyone else who watches footy, and nor can the AFL. That's why they changed the rules to make it less effective. Something that Ross Lyon still hasn't come to grips with.

I dunno.

It's toilet to watch sure.

But Carlton spent the vast majority of last year chipping it around their back half until they cocked it up. This year they're even worse.

Brisbane kind of tried to out run their shitness and copped some serious hidings. They have a very nice draft crop ripening now (probably better than ours tbh).

The dogs forward line and foot skills are worse than ours most of the time.

Hard to play certain ways if the personnel aren't there or experienced enough. You can see we don't like to long bomb it down the line but there's a few who don't turn and go quick enough, a few who don't have the leg for it, and we don't spread that well. That's when you see them hold up and look long down the line. Pretty much every team does that when ball movement plan A stalls. It stalls for us more often from a combination of factors. And we have less ability to mark/win it back than other teams.

I'm still not really convinced it is more Ross than it is list, especially given we've trotted out one of the last experienced sides in the comp regularly this year? I'm not really sure there's a particular distinct style that suits the list more. Don't have the sheer pace up forward and dominant back half (yet) to play like Richmond. Don't have the talls to play like the Eagles. Certainly not until we really see where a few players go with their development over the next year.

Just have to put up with the mud games. Pretty hard to take when Peel and Freo both do it though.
