Just a little rant about Chris Judds Hunger for another premiership.

This man, i have adored for years and one of the main reasons why i am so fond of West Coast and his name is C. Judd. Having the Messiah back in just gives me such confidence now going into games, I wonder how the players feel then having the bald man talking to them around the ground.

This man has won nearly everything that is avaliable in football, he comes to this great club where we can give the draft picks and the money for him. I wouldve thought the man would do what he can to play good footy for us and play some okay. What i didnt expect was for Judd to come in, take it upon himself to nearly single-handley on field give us back some respectability that has been lacking for years.

He didnt even have to wait 2 minshis first game to start leading by example as his very first 2 professions against Richmond in 2008 came in 30 seconds;to Monday beating the reigning premiers and give some belief to the players after so long it has been a lost cause.

The man goes the extra mile when he doesnt have to, he helps anyone and everyone at the club wheather he is busy or not. What I saw on Monday was one of the greatest performances of a leader i have seen since Hird back in the day. When that final siren went and the raw and rare emotion he showed sent shivers down my spine and i though "This man is going to be a premiership captain for Carlton.

not many players would do this, if on large contracts and for that Chris Judd i thank you and hopefully the rest step up and reward you for your work as well as the fans that demand success.

While I share your love for our leader, I can't help but laugh given the tone of some of the other threads.

Armfielf is being cricified for his disposal, yet Judd under little pressure yesterday missed 3 of his first 4 targets by foot, and early in the second, handpassed from the top of the goal square to a stationary target in Walker who was surrounded by Cats, and the resultant turnover was a goal to Selwood......Judd's opponent.

Now, don't get me wrong, he WAS inspirational bursting away from packs (guess who's got his pace back), and when he can do that for more than a half (give him another couple of weeks) he will win another Brownlow.......but his mistakes were every bit as bad as Armies, Walkers from a couple of weeks back.....and Russell.......but I don't think we'll see anyone potting him. ;)

We really are privileged to have this guy in navy blue.

People often question his leadership abilities, but he never leaves anything on the field and you cannot ask for much more than that. The knock-on effect this must have on other players cannot be underestimated.

BB, your absolutley right

Judds disposal is lacking sometimes but thats where the other mids have to step and create a path for him because atm he gets it and theres 3 oppistion players crowding in so he just kicks it out for a clearance.

Army plays along HB so when he stuffs up, theres no security blanket its when they kick it straight back into the 50 and score and thats proablby why he gets singled out alot which isnt fair

TBH, i dont think Thorton will be back for a while considering some of the talent and depth we have.

Don't worry BB I made a thread on his poor kicking and copped a bit of flack for criticising the uncriticisable. The balance remains on BF.

We finally got some emotion out of him...

When the final siren went, boy was he a happy man!

He has come to love the jumper.

Although I understand what you are saying, the extra mile Judd puts in is what all players should be doing.

It is a blemish on the game that we now applaud this, more than we simply expect it.

Can't touch this. :thumbsu:

Well yes and no.

I understand what you are saying also, but through all sports and through all levels there will be the odd participant that does more than is expected of him.
One that raises the bar beyond the maximum output laid down over and over to maintain an advantage over his peers.
Judd is that person for Carlton in a similar way that Ablett may be for Geelong.
These are unique individuals who don't stop still for the pack to catch up.

Everyone who puts on the old dark navy comes to love it... some people take a little while to actually become blue... others just instantly take to it and never give it up...

I saw in the 3/4 huddle, Judd was giving the boys a gee up and we went on with the game. Now he is really starting to become a leader of the club...

Personally, I think Judd deserves credit for being able to absorb all the negative press he copped regarding his leadership, or lack thereof during the off season and step up to the plate and visually demonstrate the sort of leadership that the club so badly needed.

It would appear that Judd is not one for a lot of carry on and hoopla, nor does he consider himself a role model to the great unwashed, but it's clear to see that he was man enough to take a step back and take on board what everyone in the media, and in the outer, saw as a perceived lack of leadership. Judd's improvement in this area over the past two games and the effect it has had on our playing group has been nothing short of amazing.

Just goes to show, that in the absence of good leadership most team sports can quickly turn into a rudderless ship, yet with a decent captain leading the way the wins are on the board. Full steam ahead boys.

Make no mistake Judd has made the difference the last two weeks. Not just with his performances but more importantly, the reaction of other players around him. Carlton players lift when he is playing, it is a mental thing. Our midfield group must protect him ie MCLEAN etc. I dare say it him playing against ESSENDON, and maybe Brisbane, we could have seen ourselves unbeaten at this stage. OR at worst 4/1.

Credit must go to our coach as well, he has taken risks in the past two games and paid off. The question is know can we keep it up, be more unpredictable?

Chris Judd 37 Poessions, 11 cleareances the most of the ground with 2nd going to swan who had 7 which pales in comparison to the Messiah.

He needs help and Brock is a good player who need to get some consistency.

The Collingwood ferals behind me even were complimenting him saying that he is one of the best players in the modern era.

Where would we be without him

Your performances in rounds 1-3 show your are certainly still competitive without The Master but undoubtedly he is the difference between you guys being just another of the young developing teams and a team taking the next step. The Collingwood game may have been a 15 goal blow out if not for Judd.

Chris Judd has gone to a new level this year, his speed is back and he is now taking some huge overhead grabs.

He may already be our greatest player.

Can't believe I missed this post earlier. His first quarter was a shocker, I think I mentioned that in the matchday thread... oh the sweet taste of vindication.

Still, wouldn't be without him.

Your coach is the Albino.

The devil can't even help you .............
