I read yesterday that if Selwood gets a contract of around $400000 a year we are looking at pick 35ish which useless. Unless we can use that pick for Redden or Jetta we are better off matching the cats offer and keeping him.

He's reasonably young and has a bnf in a top 4 side. Surely we could get a late first rounder out of him.

What about Daniel Rich? Did not have a good year coming off a knee injury thus his value would be lower than before plus he is a restricted free agent next year. At least he can kick unlike Selwood.

Redden is a 100 game player tough son of **** and is only 23 he is a must get. I would rather have him over Jetta. As talented as Jetta is he picks and choses went to play like Josh Hill

He's a few months away from turning 25. Would be a good acquisition in the prime of his career, especially with Priddis passing 30.

One thing to consider is 2016 will probably be Priddis's last year. When he copped that thigh strain he said that he often gets them but is usually able to go on and play the next week. Sounds like his body is starting to deteriorate and he may not be as durable as we thought. He may even start to miss games through resting so an inside mid is definitely a priority. I think it will take a couple of years for Waterman to come on.

If I had to choose Redden, I think he's the better player now after Rich's injuries.

Players fine, just need more time and experience.

We had one or 2 games this year were we had our consistent best through all qtr's.

Wide MCG showed our midfield weaknesses - the narrow Subiaco meant the web could be effective. On MCG slower midfield and more space between each corner of the web got showed up.

Our defence did a terrific job yesterday given upfield pressure was lacking.

Yeah agreed . I would rather keep him if we don't get an end of first round pick .

Without Naitanui firing our midfield has all the same holes as it did over the last few years.

We lack elite inside mids and it was shown yesterday as we got done too easily in the contest and spread.

What does Simpson do? Back in the players we have? Trade in?

How do we fix our biggest weakness?

I think a lot has been said recently about jetta,bennell and redden in other threads

selwood,mcginnity(who wasn't there yesterday but was throughout the year),hutchings(will be a valuable back up until the youngsters come on)possibly priddis in a year or he will at least be relegated to back up role

Another pre-season for Yeo, Sheed and Duggan are only going to do wonders.

Yeo is one who is a potential A grader.

That's our weakness, we don't have a/any A Grade on-ballers.

Rosa should've started in the 21, and I thought Masten showed us what he's made of - time to trade him.

Shuey gave 110% and shouldn't be overlooked because he had few around him.

Really hoping to see more of Yeo in the middle next year was a superstar in some of the early games and is still learning the caper .If he can get a good preseason with no mishaps then Yeo and Shuey can be dynamite duo alongside Priddis and Naitanui .

Also if Gaff and Jetta on the wings MAYBE Masto can spend more time in the middle and get back to being a inside mid .

Can we match the offer and then trade him for something better than pick 35? I was under the impression that is what Adelaide are going to do with Danger.

Because of his knee injury, Duggan has been spending the past couple of months lifting for 45-60 minutes a day. Sometimes 90 minutes.

He's going to be an absolute ****ing tank come March.

Don't forget how much of an impact he had earlier in the season. Commentators were remarking about how Duggan and Yeo had transformed our side. Then it became all about this 'web' nonsense.

Our team still has development left in.

Yeo needs to never be played in defence ever again. I like him as a high half forward with stints in the middle. I don't think he's a natural on-baller but having him pushing up the wings with his pace and aerial ability makes him our new Embley (with better hair).

Duggan will spend most of his time in the guts. Those minutes lifting will give him an extra 3 or 4 kegs and, let's face it, he was already harder than half our side as a smallish 18 yr old.

Sheed will continue to improve and take on more responsibility. Lucas will make the most of his upgrade to the main squad. Nelson will spend the preseason with the mids, put on some more muscle, and become a tackling beast.

Problem with inside ball winners is you need them to be elite if you want your side to be elite.

Can't afford to have B grade inside players if they can't play other roles.

Haven't seen much of Redden to be honest but in general the quality of inside players is not something you can afford to skimp on IMO.

Sinclair has been great this year and some comments are pretty harsh on him, yes he is not as good a tap ruckman as NN but even when NN is in there we still lose the clearances. Sinclair seems to be an easy cop out.
He is more mobile than Lycett, he marks better and is simply a better player. Lycett is more like your old fashion log ruckman.
