The Missing Link??

I didn't watch the match but our tackling figures at three quarter time were not too flash i don't know why we lost that match

How many times did we here this:

Pavlich...Pavlich....ball spills. Rhys Shaw mops up. Or Lockyer, or Maxwell. Jeffrey would of had a field day.

Most teams are playing with 2 capable small crumbing forwards. The game has evolved this year. Small forwards are back in vogue. Unfortunately our recruiting and list manager has stocked us with tall forwards.

Similarly we have a plethora of tall defenders.

Note we beat teams with tall timber up front. Yet we seem to struggle against smaller nimble forward lines.

In hindsight Collard would have been useful tonight IMO.

Or if they had've just gone with the best - Jeffrey.... :(

You know - the powers that be that decided to contest Jeffrey's 4 weeks way back in Feb have a lot to answer for. Not that I want to dwell on the past.... :o

Another "missing link" might be the fact that Pav has lost his kicking boots.... 4 goals 7. I mean 11 shots on goal is an awesome effort - but you can't go missing 7 of them. 6 goals 5, instead of 4 goals 7 and we win the game by a point.

Discipline too. I mean the stats say we had the most free kicks, but we give away too many stupid ones that give goals. I'm starting to get sick of this team and its pathetic excuses. Toughen up or drop off the radar already.

Pav kicks straight = Freo win.

Collard wasn't the answer. He would have got slaughtered in the intensity of tonights game.

Farmers crumbing is definitely being missed. The guy kicked 50+ goals last year. Add two wins to our record if we had Jeff (6-4 instead of 4-6).

I think he dockers miss Schammer alot more than people realise, last year him and Peake where giving your side great run. Now that they have been injured although peake has just returned, the side looks to slow and need schammer back

You guys really need schammer and farmer back, although schammers disposal can be woeful, you need his pace, and you guys dont have a good small forward, u hav solomon and cook for the forward pressure, but they coodnt kick a crumbing goal to save their lives.

Not a troll, just a question. Alot of people say they couldn't play Medhurst and Farmer in the same team. Yet we played Davis, Medhurst and Didak in the same team last night and they all played some part in the win.
tbh,the only people who kept using that line where the media

the only similarities between medhurst and farmer was that they were under 6 foot. there style of game was completely different

Exactly, whoever said that were making excuses. Personally I think the coaching staff had an attitude of "they are small forwards, they are just expected to pull goals out of their asses...very little coaching or structure required".
