Yeah, I made it and I CBF'd reading the replies, mods have to read it.
LOLOL BL Whombie.

Yeah, I like that Mongrel we have gotten back, Jeff Kennett feels the need to throw pot shots at us, opposition supporters too.
I want us to have that spoiled 16 year old with rich parents attitude, take everything and when asked questions shrug it off like it never happened.

I agree with everything you just said but its not my point.

Geelong havent brought any undue or unnecessary pressure onto their rookie coach Chris Scott, great move :thumbsu: and Essendon have brought as much pressure as you could possibly imagine onto their rookie coach!

I am sure even in your biased fashion you can see the simple glaring difference in this comparison. Its not neurology, just take off the blinkers.

And exactly, Hird brings the morale. Just as other favourite sons returning can bring and still failed due to the negative pressure brought to bear on the club and playing group if the original appointment wasnt handled well.

But wait a second, you can't have it both ways in your argument. You say you are talking low key when a favourite son returns home to coach. You replied this when we talked about Matthew Knights being low key.

When was Chris Scott a favourite son of Geelong and how is that relevant to your argument in that context?

The point is there are varying amounts of pressure at all times. Some people thrive under pressure and some don't. In my experience premiership teams of the past in general had a lot of people in the team and coaching panel that thrived under pressure.

How Thompson left Geelong and came to Essendon, how Knights was sacked and Hird appointed will have little relevance to the pressure that will be on the team on game-day.

Pressure will be felt most by member and supporter expectation - which on the most part is realistic.

If the new coaching panel or the players can not handle the pressure, then they are not part of our next premiership group, simple as that. Doesn't matter how or where or when who was hired.

You are clinging to hope that it does.

I like them, I really do, so I hope for their sake they realise sooner rather than later they can't get another premiership out of their list.

They're best off rebuilding with the younger stars that they have for another crack in 2-4 years, but I can just see them doing what Sheedy did, in topping up and refusing to concede the end of an era, much to the detriment of their club in future years.

I think Geelong can still win another premiership to be honest, Fremantle is my pick though.
