Big game for Lebron atm against OKC. 21 points, 5 assists before the half. If he carries them to a victory it'll shoot him back up the ranks after a quiet few weeks.

Depends how they vote on MVP though, whether they go for "best player" or actually "most valuable to their team (that is making the playoffs)". Probably the latter.

former = LeBron in a heartbeat
latter = Bryant in a heartbeat

I bet neither win it, and they go for the middle ground in Durant ;)

Huge statement game today by Lebron. His award to lose now

Over the last month, it's been all KD.

Was about a 2-3 week period when KD was clearly performing better in the middle of March but the previous 2 and half months or so LeBron was destroying everyone so there's no comparison. Normality has resumed in April with LeBron getting out of his slump the last couple games. He's in front and it's his to lose. Only another slump should see him not get his 3rd MVP. :thumbsu:

Interesting bit of History here. If Lebron wins the MVP and the Heat fails to win the Championship, he will become the first player to win 3 MVP awards without winning a title. Wilt and Moses won their 3rd MVP titles the year they won their first NBA title

I wonder how much longer it will take before they start giving undeserved MVP's to other players just because it is obvious that LeBron should win it every year. Like what they did to MJ with bullshit MVP's to Karl Malone and Charles Barkley etc. From about 1988 onwards. Michael Jordan should have won every MVP until 1998. He should have 10. He has 5.

Another interesting MVP history tidbit. Magic Johnson is the only MVP winner to win the award without the most number 1 votes.

Bumping thread to put this to rest, Does anyone actually think Lebron won't win the M.V.P?

I Durant had a run where he could have won it, but surely It's Lebron

27.1 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 6.3 apg. 53 FG% (scarily similar to career numbers 27.6, 7.9, 6.9 )

Heat 9-1 without Wade.

If he doesn't win it I give up.

I think it's 11-1 now without Wade :p

I don't see how he wouldn't win it, his season has been phenomenal.

It's decided now.

KD has put together one of the better seasons not to win MVP though.

The only time it's been in question was after OKC beat Miami and LeBron was in a mini-slump, and even then it was only neck and neck.

OKC needed to really have a strong April for KD to win it. Unfortunately they're not even going to win the West now.
