X - Horror? Movie on Netflix

Jenna Ortega and Mia Goth star in this attempt at porno-horror

A group of pr0n actors head to a backwoods locale where they are met by an old old couple and hijinks ensue

Neither horror nor drama it ( I assumed) tried to make the point that aging is terrible and contrasting the activities of the old and young

Written, Directed, Edited, Produced by Ti West this is a companion piece to Pearl also starring Mia Goth

There is a scene early where the porno cameraman explains that utilising multiple camera angles can hide the cheapness of a movie

They used multiple camera angles

Pearl, the follow up was not too bad and I believe a third instalment is coming mid year

Has anyone tried watching The Greatest Night in Pop lately? I have tried but am getting a squashed image, not a proper rectangular image. I can hear the audio no problem. I decided to watch something else and it played fine. Went back to Greatest Night but still getting a squashed image.

Three eps in. Intriguing concept but personally struggling with the casting. Some of these people aren’t exactly convincing as the supposedly the worlds top physicists.

Eliza Gonzalez as a world leading pioneer in nanotechnology is possibly the strangest casting choice since John Malkovich as a horse trainer in Secretariat.

Though I only just realised one of her colleagues is Vivian from The Young Ones. Which is weird in a much better way.

No love for Denise Richards playing a nuclear physicist in The World is Not Enough?

I am fine with Eliza, shes the eye candy of the show!

Adrian Edmondson is a fantastic comedian. It will be interesting to see how he handles a dramatic role, although he has appeared in these types of unusual roles before. I think he once played a Russian count in War and Peace.

How come no-one here is talking about 3 Body Problem?

I’m 4 episodes in and it’s very good.
I've binged the first 4 eps today so far, absolutely hooked, absolutely NFI how it all plays out.

Fantastic

I wasn't giving it a go based on who created it. Waiting to hear positive things before committing again with them. Been hearing positive things so as long as the book series is complete, I'll try it.

We've been watching The Gentlemen, and while it does have that Guy Ritchie style to it, I do find the plots of each episode a little convoluted at times. But that's not to say I haven't enjoyed it; despite its flaws, it's a nice bit of escapism.

Finished watching it last night

Overall it was pretty good although I thought it flagged a bit in the middle episodes mainly because I found Jimmy flat out annoying

Picked up again at the end

Although it did have that Guy Ritchie trademark of everything coming together at the very end no matter how contrived and/or glossed over

Binged 3 body problem yesterday. Started out really good but thought it got progressively sillier. Not sure I really cared if there was a second season by the end of it.

Thought the amount of cigarette smoking in the first couple of episodes was appalling too. There's just no need for it in a tale told in the present.

Also thought the actor portraying Auggie was totally unbelievable as both a smoker and a physicist.

Love Justin Willman and Magic for Humans, so looking forward to watching this with the kids. Am worried some of the pranks look a little mean, but the previews still looked amusing.

Yeh a bit mean but it clearly states why the prank takes place and it’s a result of meanness, especially the first 2 episodes.
