I don't care what anyone says, Happy Gilmore is still brilliant and is the source of so many quotable lines...

"Just tap it in"
"The price is wrong, bitch"
"And you can count...on me, seeing you in the parking lot afterwards!"

And everything from Shooter McGavin including the finger guns.
Rewatchables did Happy Gilmore a couple of weeks back. Quality stuff.

Still the absolute best heel turn of any movie in memory.

Timothy Dalton as well - hilarious.
Nicholas Angel: Ok. What about him then? Why's he got his hat down?
PC Danny Butterman: He's **** ugly.
Met Sergeant: Or he doesn't want you to see his face.
Met Sergeant: Because he's **** ugly.

I die whenever I hear this.

The delivery is perfect.

"Whens your birthday?
"22nd February"
"What year?"
"Every year"

The foreshadowing in Hot Fuzz is on another level - on the first watch it's a great comedy, on the second watch it becomes even better even though you know all the jokes.

"Everybody and their mums is packin' around here"
"Yeah? Like who?"
"Farmers"
"Who else?"
"Farmer's mums"

And it pays off an hour later. Brilliant.

U571 is my all time favourite Sub film and it is sensational.

I rate it better than Das Boot and many others i have seen but that is just personal choice and the story line to U571 is great as they attempt to capture a crippled German Sub at sea in disguise to claim the Enigma code machine that was killing the Americans during WW2 when they were unable to decipher it.

But as usual things go to shit real quick!

Must watch IMO if you like Sub films.
Yes, one of those American movies where the Americans somehow accomplish great deeds that were in reality performed by someone else, in this case the British destroyer HMS Bulldog a few months before the Americans even entered the war.

I Am Not Okay with This.

Directed by Jonathan Entwistle, exec producer and director of the excellent The End of The ****ing World. A few people involved who produced Stranger Things. Starts February 26.

I'll give it a shot but teenage girl angst plus superpowers doesn't sound too appealing.

Cheer was fun to watch. I have a new appreciation for cheerleaders and thought the coach was just a really good person.

Babies was fascinating but probably not for everyone. The stuff on language, feeding and parenting styles was really interesting.

Binge watched this and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it - definitely Carrie vibes

Liked it too. 20 minute eps meant it was binged pretty quick. More than just carrie vibes. Virtually copies a whole section of it. Also a whole breakfast club episode. Didn't detract though.
