At first I was joking.

Now I am serious.

If he's in the side on Thursday night, it's badge time.

On another topic, the amount of salivating for Hird failure amongst opposition supporters is one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen.

Apparently Buckley's done pretty well, inheriting a Grand Final side, doing bugger all with it, and getting it into a prelim. Amazing work.

I think Buckley's coached very well this year. Have had a pretty bad run with injuries, although a lot of them are basically in the same position/s & that position hasn't been overly hard to fill.

Krakouer and Ball are the big ones. Pendlebury out for a bit.

I still think he was way too flat-footed with the forwardline problem.

Don't rate Krakouer *that* highly.

Neither do I.

So what were the other major outs?

With Cloke, if the story that they're going to buckle for a 5th is true... shame on them.

Ball (huge loss IMHO), Johnson, Jolly (had to be managed through), Didak/Krakouer/Macaffer (IMHO not *huge* losses) - and at various points Taz, Reid, Keeffe & Brown leaving them pretty well stretched down back.

Is that true? I guess his form in the finals showed how far away they'd be without him given Dawes was his typical 2012 self and Paine needing more time.

Thinking of putting $20 on Sydney leading at half time but Hawthorn to win, thoughts?

F*** me. How good was Dangerfield on Saturday?

I'm sold, he's one of the very, very best players in the league.

I really wanted the Swan/Buckley split to happen.

Myers is a completely different player to Dangerfield. Dangerfield is miles better, no question, but Myers was drafted with a different outlook on the list management. If we had our time over again would I want us to pick Dangerfield over Myers? Absolutely! Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I don't get too pissed at players that we miss out on most of the time, it would send us all crazy! I love watching Dangerfield play, it's a pleasure to watch. If I start thinking of the possibilities then I might become grumpy. I much prefer to just watch brilliant players in full flight... Against other teams though :D

One thing that kind of gets left out of hindsight talk is that if you pick player x one year there's no guarantee you finish the same spot on the ladder and get the same picks the next years on and we don't end up getting Hurls in 2008 for example maybe if we draft slightly differently in the years before. Same sort of thing we kicking a bunch of points in a row in a game and everyone says "well if we kicked 5.0 instead of 0.5 in that period we win" when that doesn't really make much sense since everything changes after one of those scores being different.

Plenty of hindsight calls about missing out on Rioli for Myers over the years.

Who said, prior to the draft - and just about every time it came up since - that Dangerfield was the man?

This guy.

You nominated Dangerfield as your preferred pick, prior to the draft?

Can you point me to regular Pavlich failures during high pressure games?

I can't find any.
I've seen a few, but I'd have to ask my dad for specific instances - I think he catalogues all Pav's big-moment flubs for use in arguments with his mates, he's a little obsessed.

Pavlich is a terrific footballer. I'm just saying I'd never pick him to take a set shot on the siren for me.

I would.

Pavlich being a flake under pressure is just another of those myths...

My memory of that draft is that it was expected that Adelaide would draft Brad Ebert, and that Dangerfield went a bit earlier than expected.
