I almost bought her a barbie last time I went to Myer with her but I think my bro would've murdered me

She was carrying a Jigglypuff stuffed doll last Friday though so I think she has enough good toys
Oh absolutely she has enough. Haha but I just cant say no. If I ever have children, the woman I marry better be disciplined and tough otherwise the child will run wild cos I'll just be like... HAVE EVERYTHING!!! :D

The best Disney films are the early ones. They all get a bit too PC from the 80's/90's onwards.

What's to lol about that?

You've probably not seen many well known films.

Don't be so presumptuous. And relax, it's a fantastic film, I was just surprised you hadn't seen it at some point.

I wasn't being presumptuous as virtually everyone can name at least one film they've never seen that most people have.

Have you ever watched the older Disney films? Elements of them would be considered politically incorrect by today's standards. You must know that we live in a far more politically correct world now. For certain formats, like a harmless Disney film, I think political correctness impedes upon it. Those earlier films had a greater freedom about them which is essential to story-telling. Just my take

Yes, I just don't see how the newer ones are somehow inferior. Lion King, Hercules, Aladdin etc are considered Disney's golden age.

Says nothing about a "Golden Age". I agree it was up from the previous decade and probably the 70's too, but the Golden age for Disney would probably by the 1940's and 50's. A "resurgence" implies that it was coming back to something it was before

Do you know what renaissance means...?

Also if you want to talk pc movies, explain pocohauntus.

It doesn't beat the era when Disney made its name does it. It just means it had a renaissance that harkened back to when Disney was a creative force, because it hadn't been for probably some 20 years previous.

"The Disney Golden Age refers to the beginning of the Disney Animated Canon when Walt Disney was still alive and all the films received critical acclaim despite struggles at the box office due to World War II and other problems. It is predicted that the era started when Disney made his first full-length animated feature, beginning with the film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937, and ending in 1970with The Aristocats, which is also said to be the start of another era known as the Disney Dark Age. However, it should be noted, by animation historians, movie critics and Disney fans, that The Aristocats is sometimes considered a part of the Disney Golden Age for a multitude of reasons. It was one of the last films Walt Disney worked on while he was still alive, the film was not only a critical and financially success, but is generally considered an iconic film."

So no one for Studio Ghibli films?

As a kid born in Hong Kong I grew up on them, they're magic. My favourite's always Totoro

Bit hard to compare them coz obviously Disney gets a bigger budget therefore more production value but I think the Disney songs edge it for me

I love most things Japan though, apart from the war crimes

I think plot wise, they are far better. Grave of the fireflies is one of the saddest films I have ever seen.
