Finished the People vs OJ today. Absolutely outstanding. One of the best shows I've watched. Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie Cochrane - Simpson's lead attorney was completely flawless, one of the best performances I've seen.

For a few of the older guys on here, do you remember much about the trial? Gonna pick some books up on it, two written by the prosecution, and another by a writer who covered the trial for the NY times.

Have two leagues of ten and then top four of each go into a playoff series haha

So basically a less lame version of the MLS?

Thought labour day was for all of aus

Every state has a Labour Day, sometimes under a different name. But it is up to the states to determine when their Labour Day is.

Also, you can thank the Victorians for the eight-hour day for no loss of pay.

Got a bad review from a manager I had late last year who wanted us to work late for the final week of an engagement, and when I mentioned I had an indoor football game on the Monday night (9pm), and requested that I work later the following night, while not taking lunch or dinner that day, I was refused (even though I just needed to leave by 8pm). I then sat there the entire day and punched through work and everything asked of me but was in a bad mood, no lunch or dinner so 13 hours straight. So apparently that's worth having a crack at me over. Then also throws in that in the first week I charged two extra hours to the job I should have charged to IT (when at the time, when she pointed it out I changed the time without issue). No idea what her problem is.

End of this year.

For what it's worth my PM thought the comments were pretty strange as she works with me on another job and has never seen those issues. Hopefully doesn't impact me come performance review in May.

Why should it? You worked hard, stayed back (even when you didn't have to), and got it done.

Yeah but the whole issue is if the manager had an issue with me then it may end up reflecting badly even though I didn't do anything wrong and even went out of my way to ensure things got done.

Looks to me the manager is really bad at communicating to you and is a bit of a dick.

You did your work and work life balance is important

The only point I will concede is I should have mentioned the previous week that I specifically was keen to go to the indoor game, but as I'd played it every Monday for the previous 5 weeks - and mentioned it at work on each occasion - I thought she'd be aware that was part of my routine. The fact she blocked me from going when it was a game at 9pm against our mates' team and we only had 5 players available was what pissed me off so much. I'm not asking to leave at 5 while everyone stays back til 10, I'm asking to leave at 8 having not taken lunch or dinner (so automatically worked an extra two hours there).
