Deaths will rise
Doubtful they will rise above those dying of cancer, heart disease, stroke or suicides.

Would rather half the population get back to work or more will die as a result of mass unemployment as businesses continue to fail than from Covid by a country mile.

But when it's much more preventable than cancer, heart disease or stroke? At least keep masks and social distancing

You say that but when cancer isn't being tested for let alone treated because of Covid it makes **** all sense. It's pretty hard to get a gp appointment at the moment and most are done over the phone.

People can wear masks and socially distance if they like. Personal choice reigns supreme.

Right. Basically selfishness rules. Standard Brit mentality. Rule Britannia

Free will is selfish? That's quite the hot take.

I'm not British.
You've been living there too long. Almost every expert is saying no, don't. But bonehead Boris pushes on. Should be on charge for 128k manslaughters

That's not it at all. If vaccinations work then why would the UK lock down? We have to live with covid and if vaccinations prevent deaths then crack on. Particularly as the vulnerable are fully vaccinated.

Finally a minister has acknowledged the mental health aspect of things. The majority of people over here are struggling big time with their mental health. Suicides and domestic violence are at record levels. Children's educations are ****ed.

I know 2 people who have tested positive for covid and nobody that has died. I know far more who have lost their businesses, their jobs and their relationships.

But sure, blame everything on Boris.

19th July and it's all over. Sajid Javid is health minister for 5 minutes and all restrictions are lifted.

Perhaps Hancock was.. how do you say.. not doing a good job.

Do you have sources for these?
I haven't looked at domestic violence but I thought I had seen stuff saying suicide hadn't risen significantly.

I know someone directly who lost their business, went in to severe depression and ended up being ostracised from his kids thanks to covid restrictions killing his business. It's definitely happening, the mental health & social costs are significant. There is a point where once all vulnerable people are vaccinated and enough of the general population is vaccinated you just have to live life as normal, just like we do today with the flu that killed 50 million when it broke out in 1918-20. Hopefully we can get above 50-60% vaccinated here at the minimum. That should be enough to end the lockdowns that are devastating businesses and people's lives.

Infection levels in England as high now as in December but only 10% of the hospitalisations. But once the highly transmissible variant(s) take a hold as they seem to already be then infection levels will will go well past previous levels and hospitalisations will increase closer (or above) previous levels. Once that happens of course you will need to do something. Businesses won’t flourish in that environment either.

Point the health experts are saying is it’s too early and uncertain to lift all restrictions/mask wearing etc.

Meanwhile in straya in 2022..

Well we’ve just halved the amount of Aussies coming back here so can’t then turn around and allow all F1 entourage in.

Every model presented by SAGE throughout this pandemic has been ridiculously wrong. Highest death toll in Europe and we haven't come close to their best case scenario. Some dickhead from PHE was saying that we should be wearing masks for the next decade. Susan Michie from SAGE who.has been bleating over the last few days is a shrink and 40 year member of the British Communist party. The less said about Neil Ferguson the better.

It makes it hard for the public to take these 'experts' seriously.
