Finished watching that Aaron Hernandez doc today. I thought it was really weird how they just brushed past the fact he was sexually abused as a kid. It literally got mentioned once and that's it. Considering how much they focused on his sexuality and the CTE, it just made no sense that they practically chose to ignore something so significant.

Are you inferring that being sexually abused as a kid is a cause for being gay? That’s never going to fly in this age.

You're usually more subtle than this WR.
I wasn’t really trying to be! It’s just depressing that it’s this kind of shit that pollutes our airwaves and gets lauded as modern classics. What a comedown we are on in cultural terms

That's not what I'm inferring at all, although they did say that Hernandez' himself felt that being sexually abused was the reason he was gay.

What I'm saying is that when looking for possible reasons as to why he did the things he did, him being sexually abused is just as significant as being a closeted homosexual and having CTE but the documentary only focused on the latter two.

I agree.

Did you watch Don't **** With Cats

Not sure there's many saying Tones and I is a modern classic. Especially when none of us were discussing Tones and I, as I alluded to.

It’s been lauded as a modern classic, and no I wasn’t even alluding to anyone on this board believing it was. To me it sounds like every other piece of shit I hear on the radio anyway, I’m not even sure why the song received so much traction.

As for that Billie bird, that’s pretty awful too. But yeah like you say it’s not geared towards me as indeed the same as DM but you can still voice an opinion on it

Yeah that one was good as well, apart from the lame ending with that bird talking to the camera.
i found it odd in that is that he clearly knew where she worked but it was not mentioned at all.

Thought it could have been massive, unless he did not pursue this really.

Top film, best I’ve seen for a long time. Best cinematography I’ve ever seen

You seen Birdman? Similar sort of concept (talking cinematography) in terms of the one shot. Another good little film.

No I haven’t. Obviously the one shot thing alone doesn’t make the cinematography as good as it is but it’s a large part of it. Hitchcock did it with a film called Rope and that’s another brilliant film

No I know, but I thought if you liked movies that were filmed in a quirky way you might like it, it was best picture winner so it's a decent little film.

Have you seen 1917, if so what did you think?
