Ewoks were okay in ROTJ up until the point their arrows somehow pierced the armor of stormtroopers....

Episode 3 still has many glaring plotholes and terrible acting. To watch my favourite actor of all time, Samuel L Jackson, say things like "a Sith Looooord?" is cringe worthy.

Has been discussed many times, but how meekly those 4 Jedi "Masters" allowed themselves to be killed by Palpatine was ridiculous. And Padme dying because she lost the will to live (despite just giving birth to twins...). The list goes on.

There isnt anything excellent at all in Episode III.

I kind of agree but I thought Ewan McGregor's portrayal of Obi Wan was at least one positive.

I definitely agree that Ewoks really aren't that hard to look past though, ROTJ is head and shoulders above the prequels in quality IMO.

You're crazy.
Having watched them both fairly recently, Return of the Jedi was just so ****ing stupid. The army of the Empire was defeated by ****ing teddy bears.

Boba Fett's death is so ridiculous.
There were so many more things that aren't coming to mind right now, but I thought 3 was absolutely better.

Man seems like star wars fans probably enjoyed the movies less than someone with a passing interest. I'm not one who would have picked up on any of the flaws you guys see i reckon

Any ideas on the best American band of all time? Hard one to call, might be the Pixies for me
The Eagles are definitely up there.

The Beach Boys or The Doors.
Good call on these. Not big on The Doors, but can't deny that they are one of the GOATs.

America produced better solo artists than Britain.

7>5>4>3>>>>6>>>>>1>2 for me.

Podracing only reason episode 1 is above episode 2.

Nah 5 and 4 are above 7 for me. There's just something missing from 7, dare I say it, a bit of a Lucas touch to make it authentic.

There is no way you can put Episode III above ROTJ. I know ROTJ had Ewoks but they are just a small part of the movie. You still have Han and Chewie, Leia, Luke, Lando, C3P0 and R2D2, Vader, the Emperor, you know real characters.

You had the conclusion of Luke fighting his father in front of the Emperor which has been built up over three films. Yeah the Ewoks were stupid. But they really are just a small part of the movie.

Episode III had none of that. Episode III had nothing characters telling you a story that was seemingly shoved together acted out by poor actors on horrible green screens with far too much CGI shoved in your face.

Eh? Vader, Obi-Wan and Palpatine - as well as C3P0 and R2 - are in Episode 3... you know, those real characters? Ewan McGregor was brilliant in ROTS and his duel with Anakin was brilliantly acted from at least his side.

Too much CGI shoved in your face? I guess you're boycotting Jungle Book then?

Man I hope you've read the ROTS novelisation. It rights almost every wrong from the movie and is one of my favourite books of all time, let alone Star Wars.

Potential spoiler/rumour for Rogue One:

So it's definite Vader is in it, he's been cast, suit's been made and apparently looks fantastic. The scene in the trailer with the guy bowing to the tank in the room with the guards, it's apparently Vader in the tank, recovering from a big battle. Either in the middle or end of the movie potentially? Theory goes that they're going to use this to explain why in ANH he's a bit stilted and shoddy in his fight with Obi-Wan, and also why the Rebels escaped with the plans in the first place.

Same, I like Star Wars and just watch them how they are, don't really go nitpicking. Every movie has flaws.

So much more to add. How about when Anakin just right there and then decides to do all of Palpatines bidding. Just like that. Oh ok, ill be evil now. Then slaughters children.

I understand the story of falling to the dark side, not being able to save the girl he loves and ending up falling into the powers of the darkside because you are promised a way to save her. The story is sound. The way you told it was utter, utter gash. It's like you got half way through telling it and then realised there was only 15 minutes to go in Episode III so had to smash the other half of the story into 15 minutes.

Let's not talk about the "Where's Padme?" scene and the NOOOOOOooooooO! Because it almost ruined the greatest cinema villain of all time.

Yep I have. Much better than the movie. I know Palpatine was meant to be moving at ridiculous speed when he fought the 4 Jedi, but the movie was almost comical in its depiction of this. They all just stood there as he impaled one and then the other, the number of silly flips didn't help either.

I also liked the Anakin / Obi-Wan duel up until the point they're swinging on vines like Tarzan fighting each other. Looked odd. But anyway, much better than the crap that was Episode 1 & 2. Could go on for days about them.

He was wooden and pointless in the first two, much better in Episode III I agree. His portrayal of Obi-Wan was very good. That is really the only good thing about Episode III.

Yeah, trained Stormtroopers in armor beaten by small teddy bears was stupid. Although you did see many Ewoks dying aswell so that was good because, well they should be dying, in droves.

I didnt like Boba Fett's death either. To be fair to Lucas, Boba Fett has been made into a legendary bounty hunter through books and the expanded universe after the first trilogy came out.

That means that when you look back now, you're like... but Boba Fett is badass, he cant die like that in that stupid and ridiculous way. But that wasnt the films fault of Lucas' fault. That came about later because of the character being expanded on.

I dunno. Boba Fett was pretty badass already because he caught Solo and brought him to Jabba and all that. Of all the bounty hunters he was the guy.

And then he dies just like that.

Vader wasnt in Episode III. Palpatine was and was one of the saving graces because Ian McDiarmid is fantastic. Obi-Wan is a different actor playing the same character but much younger. It's not original Obi-Wan.

C3P0 and R2D2 were shoehorned in to try to make old fans connect to the shitty new ones.

His duel with Anakin was good but ultimately it went completely overboard with them flying around like Tarzan and falling off lava waterfalls. Tone it down. The fight should have been about emotion, not spectacle but of course Lucas doesnt understand his own creation.

Oh for that scene I mean the fact he hid the recorder in the statue, then let them come towards him to make it seem as if it was an assassination plot, and then wiped them out. At least Fisto lasts longer in it.

But we didnt see any of that. We never saw him being super bad ass.

Did you miss the last third of the movie?

Eh? So you're complaining about the lack of good actors rather than good characters? I have no idea which it is.

But we didnt see any of that. We never saw him being super bad ass.

What on earth are you on about? We see him track them to Cloud City, we see him capture them with Vader, we see him take Han to Jabba. Did you even watch ESB? Seems as if you went into a coma two thirds into ROTS and woke up for the start of ROTJ.

Likewise.

Having said that though, no idea how people think 3 is better than 6 :p
