Someones not down with the tatts and techs Kings culture.

Who is Chris Doster? Jimmer might be able to eke out a future for himself as an instant O shooting guard off the bench, but that's his NBA ceiling.

His problem in Sac is that they had too many players who play that same role, most notably Chucker T. It's very true that Keith Smart had him playing out of position, but the rest of that manifesto reads like a Jimmer-mania fanpost.

A Kings blogger it seems. Would know more about his team than you or I I'd think.

That's what they used to say about Jordan Crawford too. He's a chucker with not much else to his game.

Sometimes you just need the right team and the right coach to expose a players real potential.

Reddicks ceiling is basically a poor man's JJ Redick.... That's the absolute best case IMO. In the right system he could be a handy impact guy but you wouldn't want to pay more then a bag of crisps

So JJ Redick can't even be an average mans version of himself?

:D

During the Seattle relocation thingy earlier in the year I read a lot of Sac sites for info on the story. In doing so I was inadvertently exposed to more general info, ie. Kings fans' opinions on basketball and more specifically their team.

From what I read, there is a hardcore transplanted 'Jimmermania' fanbase that nominally became Kings fans the day he was drafted, and their opinion is pretty self-explanatory.

There is/was a second group of Kings fans who think that Jimmer should get consistent minutes in the role he is best suited to - as a gunner off the bench. They also pretty much loathe Thornton, and were well aware that Keith Smart was a poor coach.

The third group has pretty much written Jimmer off, based mainly on his porous D and his inability to adapt as a makeshift PG.

My personal opinion is that the second group is closest to the mark, but the Kings have/had McLemore, Thornton and Salmons as nominal shooting guards at the start of this season, the latter two on size-able contracts.

Right now they have no back-up point guard, so Jimmer is spotting for Isaiah Thomas. I can tell you that Jimmer will never, ever be a PG in the NBA, not even a back-up - his ball-handling and decision making are not even close to the level required.

He might be capable of playing a Thornton/JR Smith/Redick type role off the bench - he just hasn't had the chance to play that role consistently yet. As I understand it he's never been 'frozen out', he's just been unsure of himself playing an unfamiliar position, and thus not assertive enough on the court.

I reckon you're making shit up. Please identify blog.

Jimmer went to Glen Falls High School and by no coincidence this Chris Doster bloke comes from "Upstate NY" and likes Glen Falls, NY on Facebook. Join the dots.

His points aren't completely irrelevant but he's simply just a Jimmer homer and no need to pretend otherwise.

How can I make shit up? If I made it up i'd have to have typed it all myself and assume the name of Chris Doster.

It was taken from a Kings blog and posted on the Celtics blog.

I'm not suggesting you're making up that it was posted by Chris Doster. I'm saying he's not a Kings Blogger, he's a Jimmer homer.

So link me the so called Kings blog it came from or the only present tangible information about Chris Doster suggests he knows no more about the Kings than the rest of us as you suggested, and is really just a Jimmer homer.

So anyone who thinks Jimmer could be a good player is a Jimmer homer?

That makes no sense. I dont care if they lived next door to him as a kid, its jsut a different view from the typical Jimmer haters. Who are always the loudest.

It's not just this Doster, the majority who have responded to the article seem to think JF has never really been given the opportunity to show what he can do.

Nope, but someone with an interest in Jimmer Fredette's High School and I also now see in the college Jimmer attended clearly will have an invested interest in Jimmer Fredette.

I already said he had fair points and I agree he's been in a far from ideal environment to develop but don't try to pass Chris Doster off as if he's a serious Kings blogger, like you did, if you can't back it up. That's my only issue.

The guy's not a Kings blogger, he just comments on the articles by James Ham (who legitimately covers the Kings).

When he writes stuff like

@TABDOG Agree but what decent NBA coach wants to come to this cursed crap franchise in "Crapramento"? Insane taxes and insane fans. Should have let Seattle put this excuse for a professional sports team out of its 7 year misery...SMH -

and..

@TABDOG Lost me with the request for Malone to "call me". Cant be a real comment, but if its a joke its a real bad one, kinda like the Kings...
Praying for the day the only player I care about on this joke of a franchise is traded so I can delete everything and anything "Kings" from my life...

.. then it's pretty safe to assume that he's a Jimmer nut, as well as a fully fledged Kings 'hater' by the looks of things.

The Kings have been run like shit for a long time. Pointing that out doesn't make someone a hater.

Plenty of other people responded that seemed to share a similar view.

Kings fans know that the Kings were run like shit over the last seven years - that's why they theorize that Jimmer was drafted purely for marketing reasons.

On the other hand, calling the team he ostensibly follows "Crapamento" and his fellow Kings fans "insane", whilst musing that he wishes they'd been moved to Seattle and can't wait for the day that he can wipe the team from his memory...

.. I'd say that qualifies him as a 'hater', sorry.

Just finished watching a few of todays games...

Happy to see Bynum gone, the Cavs were really hoping to see him return to his old self but he clearly couldn't, wasnt nearly as effective as Varejao was/is

Dion, pls dont take the last shot again

Griffin starting to become scary now that he can hit a free throw/jumper

Can Tony Wroten ever be more than a bit part scrapper on teams that are lacking options on the wings and in the backcourt?
He's certainly got excellent tools, handling, athleticism.
And the drive to make himself a fantastic cog in a contender is evident in the way he's produced for Memphis in his first season off the bench, and now in Philly basically just playing carefree street ball honing his game at just 20 years of age.

If/when he leaves, I can see him being an excellent plug at a number of positions for any team looking for versatility, drive and defence off their bench or to complement their stars.

Same thing could basically be said for Brandon Knight :p

Opinions on Wroten and Knight?
