A lot more running around these days. Now games will be 10-20 mins longer. Can understand your pov as I got to admit don’t mind the 46 games in lower divs. But then again 38-42 is more than enough

Also a lot more subs and deeper squads these days.

Not the whole way through the leagues, certainly at the pointy end of the pyramid though.

Absolutely all the way through the leagues. Back in the day teams would almost literally just have 11 players with a handful of subs in case of injuries.

All the way through the leagues also don't play in Europe so don't have the same volume of games.

Yep, there should be less European football rather than less domestic football.

im surprised more people arent having football burnout. im certainly watching a lot less than i used to. not just city either, all comps. find champions league and the like so dull.

Told the wife it started this coming week and she questioned as to how given it not long ago finished. It's getting a bit much the amount they play

Yeah I barely watch CL but that's always been the case, have very minimal interest in it as a comp. Will watch PL early games and midnight for FPL reasons, but otherwise it's hard to keep up.

All the top European leagues should be reduced to 18 teams / 34 game season. France & Germany already are there. It would allow higher quality football, more rest time between European fixtures.
If by some miracle this becomes a viable solution I want to be consulted on choosing the relegated pair.

I watch less now, burn out isn't the right word for me. Disenchantment at the disgusting financial trends makes the sport less appealing.
Having discovered and enjoyed all 3 'game pass' style offerings at Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony certainly consumes a lot of football viewing time.

Used to watch matches from the big 5 leagues. Now don't even watch my own team every game.

Yeah, I am not how I used to be when I was watching every single United game live. If they play at a time I am awake, I will watch. But if they play at times like midnight where I am sleeping, I will either watch the replay later in the morning or even watch the 24 minute Optus Sport highlights.

Football has also become an expensive hobby. I won’t sign up to Stan Sport to watch the CL group stage. All I watch of European football is my own club and with the group stage spread out over 3 months, I would essentially be paying $75 ($25/month) to watch 6 matches.

Yeah, the CL move to Stan Sport has killed watching that for me, same with the A-League and Paramount. I used to enjoy waking up 6 before Uni and watching the 6:15 CL matches when they were on Foxtel (before I cancelled that), but the amount of money all of the streaming services add up to just isn't justifiable to have.

Those that have bribed their way in to the top division should be the 1st ones out

yeah im the same. just cant be bothered to pay for stan and paramount for 1 thing which i know i wouldnt watch all the time regardless.

Was wondering about that today. Surely you've sold a good proportion of your replica kits already without sponsor and was thinking that is going to affect what a new sponsor is willing to pay.
