I'm torn on this.

You ask for big money, you make a move to a big club. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect criticism.

Being a good, kind human being is rather irrelevant unless comparing him to Greenwood.

I think the issue is the way is was presented. It wasn't a nuanced, considered assessment of his performance, it deliberately presented in a way to bait the mouth breathers on both sides on Xitter.

It is fine for generating engagement, but it is unfair on the individual who has to cop the abuse it also generates.

So pointing out stats is now "adding fuel to the fire"?

Or is it highlighting a big money signing didn't contribute a lot in a game?

I'm sure when he has a blinder of a game and he gets praise they won't be whining about the reporting.

Just don't see the need for hate click baiting. There's enough abuse and negative commentary on social media with platforms like Talk Sport hyping it up.

Calling it xitter is great cause xi in Chinese is shi. So it fits to call it shitter

Just ****ing glorious from Kerr. One of the best athletes this country has ever produced.

That will live long in my sporting memory.

unfortunately they allowed themselves to be bullied a bit especially in the first half and then their just all round better team took their chances better. however runs like this in tournaments help sports 15-20 years down the line as you'll see that influx of kids who want to be footballers and everything is better because of it.

Playing the wrong tactics with a bad coach never helps. Crossing the ball onto the head of short players always works.

To be fair Sam Kerr is a good headerer for 5'6. Reckon it was more down to poor play at crucial moments. Some Maguire-esque defending for England's second goal. For the third goal two Aussie mids allowed the English girl to turn and drive up the field in an acre of space. It was like watching Man U v Wolves again!

True, but in general the team doesn't play to it's strengths because the coach is a wrong fit.

Disappointing end but England were and are the better team and deserved the win. Still an outstanding tournament from the Matilda’s and between the France game and Kerr’s goal tonight they’ve provided moments that will be remembered decades from now.

We are going to see some more Newcastle fans rock up wearing tea-towels on their heads aren't we?

It was a good hit by Kerr but the keeper should have done better. She needed to take a step before diving. It didn't help that she's only 5'8.
