Gamesmanship and mind games etc is one thing, it has gone a bit far at times. I recall the Copa Final a few years ago with Martinez taunting (I think it was Mina) as he was actually striding in to take his kick. Thought at the time there’s something not right with that, the cricket equivalent of close in fielders talking shit to a batsman as the bowler is about to delivery the ball. Shouldn’t be allowed.

It’s all about respect now, so I am fine with this. But they should go a step further and start handing out yellow cards to every player that surrounds a referee. If that is 6 players, give them all yellow cards.

We got told a month back that the third player to approach a referee would get booked. Ruben Dias just walked up to the ref and got a yellow before he'd even said anything.

Seen that happen dozens of times since with no booking.

Suspect this rule will be subjectively applied as well.
