Seems to be broken?

A bit like Antony’s United career? Am I right? :)

The two videos were two really nice passages of play from Antony. One resulted in a goal and the other was a lovely pass that was close to being an assist. Basically he did more in his first 10 minutes for Real Betis than what he managed in 2 and a half years for United.

So Amorim was holding him back? ;)

I assumed there was some fidget spinning involved.

Sam Kerr is in court for allegedly calling a cop who arrested her a "stupid white bastard". Her defence team tried to get it thrown out on a technicality. I doubt she will face jail as the offence permits but a criminal conviction with a fine would impact on her ability to play in the US.

I hadn’t watched the police station footage until today. One things for sure, she’s definitely a Kerr.

She and her partner come across as very entitled (refusing to have to take responsibility for their actions) and then the verbal tirade by Sam is obviously racially charged.

Let’s not lower BigFooty’s average IQ.
Every board that isn't the Tigers section is actively doing its bit to increase the average IQ from their base of 0.2

I think it speaks volumes that the cop didn't bring the racial element into it for over a year until he realised who she was.

The idea that calling someone white can be considered racial vilification is utterly ridiculous to begin with. It'd be like someone making a comment about straight people and someone claiming that's vilification over their sexual orientation.

Very good points.

The question has to be asked in court - would this whole incident have amounted to anything if it didn't involve a celebrity?

Yeah, Kerr acted like a bit of a dick. Really, she should have apologised to the taxi driver and offered to pay compensation for hurling in their taxi. Realistically this was a celebrity doing something done, on the piss. She won't be the first or last celebrity to behave like this.

I'm failing to see the criminal element here though, I really am. Clearly she was upset at the interview with the coppers and it seems some mental gymnastics are required to argue she was being racially abusive.

Surely the Chelsea legal team can put this one to bed, Perhaps an out of court settlement would have been prudent to avoid all the publicity.

When you add in the parts about them feeling like they were being abducted, and the cops not taking that seriously, I'm glad she's actually fighting back.

Cop deserves to be clowned on in public.

My cousin had this argument over Christmas. Having taken his daughters to Matilda's games he's followed the team and was staggered at a white person being racially vilified. He'd spent a decade in the states and couldn't believe the most oppressive race could be vilified.

His wife, a lawyer, stated that the law has to be blind. And that's why Kerr is where she is. Notwithstanding the odd nature of the officer as you elude to.

Where did you see that he didn't bring it for over a year? Wasn't the delay due to the court cast not being scheduled for that length of time?

The whole thing is an absolute waste of time for the justice system. The only winners out of this will be lawyers on both sides who will get paid handsomely - Kerr by Chelsea and lawyers for the coppers.

It was part of the findings:

The jury was told that PC Lovell's first statement made no mention of how Ms Kerr calling him "stupid and white" made him feel.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) received that statement and in July 2023, declined to charge Ms Kerr, stating the threshold of harassment, alarm or distress hadn't been met.

On December 5, 2023, PC Lovell submitted a second witness statement, detailing how he felt after being called "stupid and white", nearly 11 months after the alleged incident took place.

In that statement he said being called "stupid and white" made him feel "shocked, upset and leaving me feel humiliated" adding, "they were too far and I took great offence to them".

I wonder what happened after that July 2023 statement to make him re-assess?

Kerr was arrested at the time for a racially aggravated public order offense.

The cop is not the one on trial here. Kerr is on record and has admitted to calling him "****ing stupid and white." She is the one who brought a racial element into it after some very shitty drunken behaviour. Is this who we want as captain of the Matildas and a role model to young girls?

Yep, she's a legend. Next question?

They were also essentially kidnapped in the back of the cab and despite multiple calls to the police were ignored. I reckon you'd be pretty rattled too.

You've continued to push this line of her being some sort of racist menace, is it because she hurts your white boy sensibilities?

The 'legend' vomited in the back of a cab, refused to pay the clean up charge, smashed the window of the cab, then racially abused the attending policeman. What an awesome role model.

Dreary me. Weird.

Dreary me. Weird.

It was her partner who vomited, they smashed the window of the cab to escape from what they thought was an abduction. As far as the racial abuse the fact you keep repeating this is farcical. Just because she was charged with something doesn't make it fact.

You are very weird.

scummy behaviour, which they have since apologised and paid for.

After the taxi driver made them feel like they were being abducted.

After the police officer didn't take their feelings of being abducted seriously.

It's almost like people when blind drunk do things they wouldn't do when stone cold sober and in the light of day can realise the error in judgement and atone for it. :tearsofjoy:

The fact the police wouldn't answer their calls to inform them of what was going on is basically what has caused this situation which is quite ridiculous.
