It's almost like people when blind drunk do things they wouldn't do when stone cold sober and in the light of day can realise the error in judgement and atone for it. :tearsofjoy:

The fact the police wouldn't answer their calls to inform them of what was going on is basically what has caused this situation which is quite ridiculous.
I will say, I've never done anything of the kind while drunk. I'm assuming you haven't either?

I think it does say something about the person if they're all of a sudden more aggressive etc while drunk.

After the taxi driver made them feel like they were being abducted.

After the police officer didn't take their feelings of being abducted seriously.

Did you see her slouched in the police station gobbing off? Did it look like she had been recently afraid that they had been abducted? Or more like a drunken flog?

I've certainly done plenty of things drunk that I wouldn't sober, and also gotten peeved off at people trying to have a go at me.

I once had a bouncer at a club try to kick me out because he mistakenly thought I hadn't been stamped, until the girl at the front told him she remembered stamping me and it was clearly on my wrist. He then kicked me out when I tried to find the toilets claiming I'd been trying to sneak into the girls toilet. I was drunk but had done nothing wrong and he clearly had it out for me, and I'm sure I probably said something to him on the way out about him being an idiot or moron or something similar. If I'd chucked in "White" at the front, I'm not convinced I could have been arrested for racial profiling.

Are you a tea totaler or something? You're acting like it's illegal to drink.

Doesn't sound like you mate ;)

Each to their own I guess. We've been incorrectly kicked out before but even when drunk, I've never thought to get lippy with anyone.

Anyway, as I said, she deserves the embarrassment of it coming out but that's where it should end.

If I'm being called a pervert for something I haven't done, you bet I'm going to get lippy.

The cop was being condescending and rude to Kerr and her partner and she got lippy back.

The law being blind is a very valid point. As soon as you start introducing "he shouldn't be too offended" type judgement calls you weaken the law for everyone.

Strong disagree. This case is the perfect case study of a white officer using his race as privilege to go after someone only after learning of who she is and deciding he should have been more offended than he actually was.

If anyone claims to be offended by being called white, straight, male, or any other inherently powerful demographic then they're being disingenuous and have ulterior motives. Precisely why when this police officer filed his first report he made no mention of the 'slur' - because he wasn't offended - and only 5 months later decided to amend his statement to go after her.

If you think being called "straighty" should be equal in the law to being called a "f****t" then I'm sorry but that's just wrong. Certain words carry more pejorative power than others and that relates to historical injustices against certain groups. Equating all terminology with the same power purely because on the simplest level calling someone one colour can be equated to calling someone another colour is way too simplistic to effectively govern and police.

If the law isn't nuanced enough to take historical prejudices into account then it isn't effectively crafted.

For me you can't tell one person that it's OK to refer to someone's race or nationality as part of your abuse and another person that you can't.

It just opens up a can of worms.

Sentencing is when the impact on the "victim" should be considered, not when you're considering whether an offence has been committed.

I think it speaks volumes that the cop didn't bring the racial element into it for over a year until he realised who she was.

The idea that calling someone white can be considered racial vilification is utterly ridiculous to begin with. It'd be like someone making a comment about straight people and someone claiming that's vilification over their sexual orientation.

But she used white as a negative.

“You’re stupid and white”

It was a put down. And she said it multiple times.

Obviously racial, privileged and entitled

Wow

Quite piss poor conduct that makes it harder for honest fans to get access to tickets while tourists pay exorbitant prices for the privilege, and it appears to affect multiple English clubs.

Wonder if the independent regulator can act.

It's exactly the sort of thing an independent regulator should be looking at (and probably why most clubs don't want one).

Can we sanction the club again please.

Day 3 of the Sam Kerr trial. It's pretty much uncontested that she vomited in a cab, refused to pay the clean up charge, smashed the window of the cab, called the attending copper "stupid and white".

The claims of her being kidnapped are laughable. Who drives to a police station with kidnap victims?

It will be interesting to see if her defense team runs with the social media 'white people can't be victims of racism' line. She has been charged under the Public Order Act 1986: Section 18 – Racially Aggravated Offenses. It is an offense to use abusive or insulting words when the offense is racially motivated. A key element is if the defendant had racial hostility towards the victim at the time of the offense. The law doesn't distinguish between different forms of racism.

Sounds like all involved are dick heads and that cop should find a new line of work if they are that sensitive.
Career change. Bigfooty moderator.
Some of them are sensitive AF. The paperbagger board has many reports of being shoot on sight.

It would be nice if the police prioritised stopping violent crime in this country rather than this shit. Person A is pissed up and does something stupid. Fine them, give them a warning and move on. No wonder the justice system is ****ed in this country if the courts are wasting their time on this crap.

The mods on this board are fine. The North board mods let things go for the most part. I wouldn't know about other team boards but the rest of the site is filled with reddit style mods.

the Taxi driver didn't tell them he was driving them to the cop shop, or if he did, they didn't hear him, or believe him. So until he stopped at the police station they had no reason to believe they weren't being kidnapped.

And if the cops had acknowledged that, then none of this would have happened.

Most club owners take the piss and don't give a shit about their clubs fans. Quite ballsy to **** over domestic fans of the whole league though.

I will not have you besmirching the Glazers. They care deeply about match going experience hence why they offer an in stadium waterfall for fans. Free of charge. No one else is that committed to fan engagement.

As usual though they have cheapened the whole experience. Where are the slides and the log ride?

There needs to a lobby selling overpriced polaroid photos of said log ride or we riot.

The moderators on the Carlton board are pretty easy going. Just over moderated at times. Don’t be a dickhead, you won’t get banned basically.

Maybe why you do most of your BigFooty posting outside of this section, on the main board. You can be as dickish as you want on that section and never be at risk of being banned.
