Am I more justified now to say that I disagree with this Jatz? ;)
Not to me...someone else might feel more sympathetic towards it though haha

It will be interesting to see if Frank Lampard has learnt his lesson after his Chelsea stints and becomes a career mid table manager or if he takes the first job from a big club again.

Yes. I said that when they announced it.

Ok, was just checking in case any of the events since then might have changed your mind but all good.

Wouldn't have been opposed to Iraola or Le Bris winning this but happy for Mikel

Arteta deserves it, he had a huge amount of pressure to deliver a big trophy and he did it.

Arsenal supporters: Bruno shouldn’t have won POTS from 3rd.

Also Arsenal supporters: Arteta not winning MOTS from 1st would have been fine.
I don't think the manager who wins the league should automatically win MOTS.

Le Bris has taken a promoted side straight to Europe. Unheard of.
Iraola lost half his XI to bigger clubs and made Europe for the first time in the clubs history. Remarkable.

Both would've been worthy winners.

As for Bruno - I simply think there were players who had better seasons than him.
  • Haaland had more goal contributions, doesn't get talked about because it was a below par season by his elite standards, which is crazy to say. 35 G/A in 35 appearances.
  • Semenyo was unreal at Bournemouth and then seamlessly slotted into a title challenging City side, was arguably their best player from the moment he joined.
  • Rice was an absolute midfield monster all season in a title winning side. Played at 8, played at 6, played at right back, bossed it every time he stepped on the pitch. Will be in the Ballon d'Or conversation if we win the UCL or if England win the World Cup.
  • Raya has elevated himself to being one of the best keepers in the world. 19 clean sheets, plenty of match winning saves, he is up there with the best now.
  • Gabriel was a general in a side that conceded 27 goals in 38 games. Scored a few big goals too, 7 G/A from centre half.
There are players who put up bigger numbers than him, and had a bigger impact than him IMO.

English clubs really shouldn't compete in the Conference league.
I actually think it's a great way for those lower level English clubs to try and win a trophy.

I think I'd prefer less English clubs being able to compete in the league but I wouldn't exclude them altogether.

Yep may as well call it the English Charity Shield

It's an absolute joke. The number of winners/finalists/semi finalists from England is just disgusting. Saw a suggestion that the highest coefficient nation from the previous year should be excluded from the Conference. It should be a financial leveller for other nations, not another opportunity for England to beat up on other leagues.

Yes there’s a clear advantage for the English teams in Europa and Conference league. They should be dominating those competitions for the next little while as long as they continue to participate like this.

Agree on that. I feel it will be a cakewalk every season if they continue. The only hindrance will be a conference team chasing a PL title resting their entire team for conference fixtures.

Its a great opportunity for a club like Palace, and their supporters to experience European football.

Financial rules make it next to impossible for them to break into top 5/6 on a sustained basis.

If anything I'd rather UEFA look at propping up other leagues than punish Engkand because of the financial strength of the league.

I have zero problem with Prem teams being in the Conference. 3/5 winners being from England isn't that bad. The other 2 finals didn't even have an English team in it. It's a small sample size to be honest.

Meanwhile in the 2 comps above Spain is dominating:
Real Madrid 15 CL titles, more than double the next best team.
Sevilla 7 Europas, more than double the next best team.

England has a lot of catching up to do in Europe.

That's because there was only one team allowed from England.
